Yyeeeeoooowww!!!
Well, call me indoctrinated to the Club.
While getting out of my SPF at Chili's this evening, I plopped my left leg right (while wearing shorts) on the red-hot sidepipe. Yeow! As quick as I could yank it away, it's still bubbling up nicely, but is numb from the ice [and the Miller Lite(s) ].

slather it with aloe. real aloe, the plant. If from a tube at pharmacy, find one with the highest concentration of aloe. Not kidding here. A lot of it. Will take a few weeks to heal, and with the aloe, the scar might be minimal.
It won't start REALLY hurting til tomorrow.
bummer!

I'll second HLC - aloe will definately help the healing and minimize the scar.
My wife fried her leg on her first ride (still rides with me in it ) and used
a lot of aloe (we do have a lot of plants at our house) and there is no scar.
In 3-4 days it will look like hamburger and will take about a month to heal. I have done it more than once so I speak with experience.
I can do that now!

I got my first bite while looking at a car in Bethesda, MD back in 2000!!!
I have been very careful since but still collected a couple more but not near as bad as that first one!!
They also take quite awhile to heal!!

Thanks to all for the advice. Amy (my beloved wife) told me about the aloe too. Monday's dress socks promptly removed the thin protective coating keeping the wound from being open. It's turned a maroon color, Ford would probably call it Deep Crimson Metallic or something.
The silver lining - I got my 17" wheels back from the polisher Monday so I'm once again totally in love with my little snake, and no longer cautiously fearful of her.

It's been 2 years and no burns yet, Knock on my wooden head!!!
Glad to hear you finally got your car; I know you looked for quite a while trying to decide.
