Cobra Engine Maker
Does anyone have anything to say about this engine builder?
http://www.fordcobraengines.com
I was looking at the 351W/400HP and it looks good. What do you think?

Know nothing about that company but I will say you can't go wrong with a Keith Craft motor. Alan said the other day that if we ever sell the car, we're pulling the motor.

The prices are higher than Keith Craft.
I'd go with Keith.

I was initially looking at http://www.fordcobraengines.com, i.e. Th Engine Factory, but have decided to go with Keith Craft when I pull the trigger on my build.
The Engine Factory is way out in front with the marketing for a full turn key solution and cobracentric looks, but this is all window dressing... cobra valve covers, air filter and all of the colors. Keith can do the same if you really want all that. Also, depending on the kit that you buy, that awesome looking cobra air-filter may not even fit under the hood.
Keith Craft Motorsports is in Dallas (Plano) and can do turn key for about the same amount of money or slightly less.
I am convinced that a KC motor will provide more horsepower from the same size block. The local storefront operation at KC is also a big selling point for me.
Ask for a copy of the Engine Factory cobra video then visit Keith Craft Motorsports in Plano and you will arrive at the same decision I did.

If I wasn't building my owne FE
I'd say get a Keith craft engine or a Ford Crate motor. Tony Mendez (MustangMendez) can get 5% or 10% off from the Ford Motor Sport catalog from his cousin who works for a Dealership in San Antonio. As a matter of fact all TCC members get that discount.

I bought the very same motor several years ago without any problems. They used to be the number one crate motor company in the US at one point.
That said, Keith Craft has become very competitive in the market, their 408 economy crate motor is $7400 ( 500 hp ) and their standard is $9100 ( 575 hp )
Looks like a better deal now.

If we can help in any way please feel free to give me a call at 870-246-7460 or go by and see Rob at Keith Craft Motorsports. We can do you one of our custom crate engines or get you a discount on the Ford Racing stuff. Our engine are not much more and have a littlem more to offer in parts and power. Good luck with your project. Thanks, Keith Craft

I've only had my baby a month and Rob at Keith Craft has been super helpful. Even before I got her, he answered about every dumb question I could think of.
I just had them dyno tune my 392 rated at 430hp at flywheel. The first run was 318hp at rear wheels and before they were done, he had it up to 359! And that's through SPF's restrictive exhausts and the indy rear end. Runs SO much better!
