Hey guys, if you need to get ahold of me, please either call or e'mail. I haven't had time to look at any forums lately, and I'm now getting these messages from you guys a little later than any of us would like.

WHEN would you like to get together? I'll be in Colorado installing a dyno next week and weekend, how about the weekend of the 20th?

BK

I will be entertaining a five year old all weekend .

Its my grandson's birthday outing to buy stuff. Maybe I could interest him in another Cobra

Have fun, Randy

Well, we can do something on the 20th. We were talking about bringing a grill and some coolers to the shop, maybe borrow a few folding tables and some folding chairs (not much need for seating in a race shop) so folks would have a place to take a load off their feet for a while. We'll put a few cars on the dyno just for fun (this means free of charge for you frugal folks out there) along with turning a few hotdogs and burgers into heartburn and an excuse to drink beers (shall we?)

I'm waiting for somebody with a big-baller car to knock the dust off the dyno. The record holder is still the guy with the twin-turbo Dodge-Cummins diesel truck. Maybe Cammer will bring the Silver Snake and see what it's got?

Whatcha think?

Thumbs up I'm IN

You name the Time buddy and I'm there. I have three 6 ft tables we can use. Just need a way to get them down to the shop. BYOB people!

This should be a blast.

I have a bunch of work to do around the house but that always goes without saying. I've always wanted to throw my car on the dyno and get an idea of my ~HP. Let me know when and where and I'll mark it on my TO-DO-LIST.

Hi again, guys. . . .

The plan is to get together at around 10AM at Applied Racing Technology. We plan on grilling some food, having some soft drinks, but if you want to bring some beers along, suit yourself. Gregg said he's got some tables, but I'm not sure what we'll do about chairs. If you've got portable fold-up chairs and want to make sure you'll have somewhere to sit, you'd be wise ladies and gentlemen to bring them along.

We'll probably test a few cars FOR FUN just to see what improvements folks can make to a handfull of cars. This is NOT a dyno day. Dyno Days are a lot of work, and aren't much fun for me since I'm the guy who spends the day dirty and busted looking. Instead, we'll let people who are interested in having their car on the dyno FOR FREE put their names in a hat, and we'll draw out one at a time and see what we get. Remember, this is primarily a social event, and an opportunity to learn about what a good dyno operator with a great dyno (shameless plug) can do to help you and your car.

SO, if you want to have your car on the dyno, make sure it's ready to do so. This means make sure you've got plenty of coolant and engine oil BEFORE you get there. Also, make sure you come with an open mind, because very few people's cars make as much power as they THINK they do. The purpose of the dyno is not to bolster egos, it is to find ways that a car can be made to work better. If you want to learn something about your car, this weekend is a great opportunity.

We are also inviting some Miata owners (hey, I've got a Miata and I'm building a Cobra) so play nice. I expect that there will be a handfull of folks with other types of cars as well, mostly race cars. The guys from Applied Racing Technology will most likely talk about some racecar suspension setups, engine blueprinting, etc. It will be a lot of fun, and we hope that you'll all find time to come by. The address for the event is:

Applied Racing Technology
115 E. Saint Elmo
Austin, TX 78745

I hope to see you all there!

Oh, one more thing. . . .

We plan on being there at the shop until 3pm. It's possible that we might stay later than that, but if you'd like a chance to have a free dyno test, you need to be there well ahead of 3pm.

See you there!

Thanks.

We can get together somewhere else, but one of the other hosts has a signifigant health issue right now, and we decided that it's not worth jeapordizing his well being for an open-house fun day, and I really don't want to be the only host AND be working the dyno.

I'm really suprised there wasn't more interest in this? I'd be a lot more inclined to tough it out by myself, but there seems to only be two or three people interested in showing up? I'd still like to get together and meet with everyone, maybe even invite folks over to my house (if the wife gives me the nod) or meet up for lunch somewhere fun. Who IS actually interested in doing something this weekend, with or without the dyno? You guys can come play on the dyno any time you wish, it doesn't have to be a meeting weekend. . .

Default Plan B

Looks like the stuff Brian had planned got cancelled do to some health issues. No problem anybody open for a quick get together at Cat Fish Parlor down off Ben White. Might be easier for Tony and a few of you South Austinites to Make it?
