Default TMS - Laps for Charity - 5/13

This information was forwarded to me as my agency (New Beginning Center) has been a beneficiary of the Speedway Children's Charities the last few years. I know some of y'all have gone way fast 'round the track, but this might be fun for those who haven't yet done the class at Texas Driving Experience.

Saturday, May 13 Laps for Charity I
This is an opportunity for the public to come out to the speedway and take their car on the track for only $25. Each set for $25 will be 3 laps and a picture in Victory Circle with their car is $10. We will have cars on the track from 5-10pm.

The way the event works is as follows. There will be about 10-14 cars on the track at a time, with pace cars regulating the speed and making sure everyone is obeying the set rules. On the infield we will have cones set up in rows (A-Z) and a volunteer directing and counting so that each row has a set number of cars in it. Cashiers will be walking up and down each row and collecting payment and handing out the tickets for the amount of sets that person purchases. We will also have volunteers throughout the infield to help direct traffic flow when people come off the track (the participants will have to know where to go to have their picture taken, exit the track or where to go to get back in line). We will also have people stationed at the infield entrance gate to hand out the rules and have waivers signed.

Sounds like fun, wish I was in Texas!

A decent 427 - not the worst, not the best, will go from zero to 100 mph and back down again to zero in less than 14 seconds. All thing considered, you can put together a pretty good argument that the 427 Cobra is the ultimate performance car, judged on any basis you want to name." It's not that far! And don't you need to come check out Keith's Dallas shop anyway?
