I'm Impressed!
Just from the photos, this would be a great place for a Cobra meet. How did you find this place?

Ed,
Not all of Boyd's travels are in the Cobra or Emily's S2000. They actually live in a hanger from the rumors I've heard.

Hanger looks like a neat Hotel but its only 50 rooms....that seems to be the problem that we get into is the size of the group nowdays.....
Oh well I can sleep outside I guess since I don't have a Cobra just a lowly GT...

Ur right Kristen, the last weekend is 29,30,31. I guess it's time to close the can of worms that were opened and tell us which weekend at the Marriott? The only person who likes change is a wet baby.

Actually Dave, I have to disagree with you. This club doesn't require Cobra ownership to participate. You just have to be a Cobra afficianado - own/drive one, are building one, are still dreaming about owning one, or have sold one but haven't yet started with the next one yet (let's be honest - if Cobra ownership was a requirement, we'd never be able to keep up with whether Sharapata was in or out.)
I do think it would be interesting to find out why we don't have greater numbers than we do. I've always just assumed that if someone didn't know about our fabulous club then they were missing out. And if they had come and opted not to come back well then I've always thought they just must not be fun people.

We always value opinions from everyone within the TCC family (with or without a Cobra), especially from those who do not want anything to do with the TCC.

wow, I don't think I would have brought up ugly old news!!
I've removed myself from subscription to this thread.
I sure am glad I'm having fun out DRIVING my car (if even to Tulsa, St.Louis, etc) rather than have to deal with this. I will not get sucked into this immature and unfortunate discussion again.
Post when/where when ya'll decide.

Funny but that post Cowtown seems to be directed at Me, Ed and Sharpy since we are the only ones without Cobra's that have posted?
Well I guess that means Tom, Stretch, Sharpy, Tittle, Ed, Alan (you have a GT we give Colleen the Cobra), Jay (He's always got somethin not always a Cobra) and who else am I missing should just go somewhere else for our Austin trip this year....
I can make reservations for us at the Hanger Hotel? Who's in? Greg you want to join us?

Do I have to start spankings now??
I warned y'all to play nice. Am I going to have to pull out the paddle? Or would a whip get the point across better?
David's right, this has gotten a little too over the top and egos are colliding.
Perhaps we should institute the "Coke" rule that I've seen on another forum. If something riles you up and you are about to post something on a tanget, perhaps you should take the time to drink a Coke (or Jack and Coke, or Rum and Coke, etc) before you hit the post key. If after you look back at your post, even you feel like it was too harsh, too angy or just too asshol-ish, then perhaps you should hit delete instead.
The unfortunate thing about the internet is that once you post something it's generally there for eternity and you can't take it back. (Well, unless we lose the CC server again, but that's a different story). Do we really want such animosity to be the over-riding communication style of the TCC? I think not.

Maybe the Ford GT club can have an event at the Hanger hotel. I have a Mustang GT350R can I come or do I need to buy a Ford GT for the event and Cobra for the Austin event or I'm so confused!!!!!!!!

Gary,
The way you buy and sell cars, you can make it work. What do you need but a day or two between events, right?

I think we should go the distance in Round Rock. I would like to see a fall meet in DFW area or Houston area or even San Antonio area for the folks who dont mind a 5 or 6 hour drive. This could be the farewell to summer event, perhaps when pre season football is going on like around labor day. The Dallas area always has a lot going on, and Galveston area didn't even evacuate for Rita and San Antonio has to be the prettiest city in the U.S. I'm kinda like Barry Maguire the car crazy nut, who cares what u drive as long as you enjoy it. This coming year will be my third Austin event. I don't know if that makes me a newbie, oldie or just a confused-be. In any case the first year was a big bust for me. I came late and left early because I didn't know anyone and mostly just wandered around by myself. That is not an indictment on the group BTW. It is the new guy's responsibility to reach out and join in not the established group's job to seek him out and drag him into the fun kicking and screaming. In any case, I got plugged into the Houston Club shortly thereafter and now consider many of these guys and gals to be among my best friends and almost like family. Due to that, this last year in Austin was a blast in SPITE of the obnoxious traffic. That said, the fact that it was fun in SPITE of the traffic does not make it perfect......just fun in SPITE of a negative.
Can you believe that was just the set up of my comment.....LOL?
With my limited involvement up until now, I am a little confused. Is this an official TCC Statewide meeting where our President is elected and other critical business is decided for the upcoming year or is this an Austin Club event that everyone in the state is invited to? (I'm not being a smart a$$....just trying to understand). Some of the comments on this thread would indicate that I am not the only one confused although I THOUGHT I knew before reading this thread.
If it is the latter, we (the non-Austin members) just need to say "thank you" for all of the hard work the Austin Club puts in and keep our suggestions to ourselves. It is their event and we should be appreciative of the fact they allow us to come. Our presence surely limits their options and adds to their workload. Nothing like having a guest in your home complaining about food, drink and the temp settings on your thermostat.
Now IF this is the official Annual TCC Event where TCC business is discussed and decided and just happens to be held in Austin, then perhaps everyone needs to step back and reconsider their postions. Just because it is held in Austin should not dictate that only Austin members need to carry the full workload nor should it be considered hands off for the rest of the members around the state.
I don't have a better place to suggest (I can find the Houston airport but that is about it) but I sure would like to see it move around the state and experience some other places. I would also welcome a much shorter drive from the central location to get to some interesting and traffic free roads. Living in Houston, I typically have to drive a good 30 - 45 minutes to get to some fun roads and would like to move further out of town for that very reason (if the new location would not be so far from the airport).
Now if my original understanding is correct (that this is the official State Meeting) AND the hotel has been booked, then I would agree that we are too far into it to even consider moving it for 2007. However, there needs to be some discussion in something other than an Internet Free-for-all about how the location and workload will be addressed in future years. While I like the absence of organization in smaller groups, in a larger group you will never make everyone happy nor come to concensus. I might suggest that a committe is formed with delegates from each club and allow them to come up with an acceptable plan and then just announce the outcome (or have a vote in Austin with only two or three options to choose from). In any case, you will have some who love the plan, some who hate it and a bunch who couldn't care less as long as the event happens.
Time to stop the arguing and find a peaceful resolution. This is a big ol' state and we have some dynamic Cobraphiles in the group who can surely collectively come up with acceptable options. I would gladly help in any way that I can....even if it is just making beer runs for the decision makers while they hammer this out. One thing is for certain. I bet a face to face discussion would be far less hostile and far more effective.

Mark....I am no mediator. If anything I'm an instigator.....I am just trying to understand the nature of the envent and club dynamics.
Rick,
Well, I am glad to see it ALMOST worked.....always trying to "dig up business".
I am just getting started too. You guys keep fussing and I'll write a post that will crash the site.
Now no one has answered my question....is this an Official TCC State event or is this a local (Austin) event where everyone in the state is invited?
Geez...why didn't I just ask like that in the first place?????

Gary,
I don't know that you'll get an answer. There's really no one in charge so there's no real "authority" figure, just a lot of people with opinions.
BTW - There is a committee forming. Check out Dennis' "Positive Spring Meet" thread.
