The Positive TCC spring meet thread
Hey guys and gals,
I have been keeping my eye on the other thread and it's been great fun (not) watching us (yes I posted on that thread) let egos and crap try to jack up a really good event. What started out as a simple question/suggestion has turned into a real cluster F@%# if you know what I'm saying.
So let's turn the ship around and have a plan to make this a freaking awesome event! Anyone remember the part that goes something like, it's not the cars it's the people???
Not trying to take over anything here but I will step up and and offer my effort and time to make this thing work. That is if anyone is still interested in that.
Why don't we get 2 or 3 people from the Austin, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio and Corpus groups to offer their services to form the commitee that Colleen has suggested, Pick a date like say November 18th (provided that does not conflict with Tony's deal...couldn't find the date) and make a road trip to Bastrop for some BBQ and make some concrete plans on how to 1) make it an event filled meet with something for everyone, 2) figure out how to get more people to participate 3) get back to the fun.
Let's take the gloves off...nothing sacred. Let's just make it fun!
Tell me what you think. If you want to make it work let me know and also if you want my help. This club actually means alot to me as do the friendships I've made in this group from all parts of the great state of TX and even some of those foreigners from OK, TN and LA. I'm not so willing to sit back and watch it fall apart without trying to do something.
Please dont give me the "they won't let us do it". First of all there should be no US vs THEY and who picked the us and they teams anyway. It's a WE! Let's get organized like I've heard that grown ups do...don't claim to be a grown up but I can act like one sometimes...and get this show on the road.
Not discounting the work that anyone else has done but we got to get done with the bickering and on with the planning.

Dennis,
Isn't Bastrop close to Huntsville? I bought a pair of 1966 Texas License Plates with the original paperwork that were made there. Oh well I guess that is what DeLorme is for.
Donna and I will be in Guatemala for a week in Nov. but post the date and perhaps we will dig out our map.
I'm glad only the nice people in the TCC come to the events. I don't wonder about all those that stay at home. Talk to Tony before you set a date not to create any conflict.

Ok, DeLorme says Bastrop is just down the road from Brenham, TX. The reason BlueBell ice cream is the best is because the cows think Brenham is heaven. They used to give free factory tours with free ice cream at the end of the tour. Basically East of Austin and West of College Station. I'm always coming from the east with the sun at my back and the wind in my face, (and bugs on my teeth) <g>

Hello Folks,
I don't post very often on Club Cobra but I do follow it. I have been to 4 Austin meetings, one without a cobra nad 3 with one. The meetings have always been a great party and it is something that I look forward to each year. I am an active member of the Houston Club(that does not make me a bad person)and I would be glad to help out with spring event. Bastrop makes for a nice ride. Let me know how I can help.

Hunting for Cammer?? Is that harder than hunting for deer? Does he get a head start at least?

Thank you Dennis
I am definitely on the positive side of the fence.
You and I need another great meeting so hopefully we can actually drive our cars rather than work on them like we did last time.
I think I am good to go since I replaced every ignition part I had with new stuff (not that what I had was old to begin with).

Well I was just going on the fact that apparently plans are under way and I have to imagine that reserving the hotel was first on the list.

I might be able to make it.
May I suggest Elgin instead of Bastrope. It has better BBQ?

Cobra meet
Hey Boys and Girls! Pat and I would love to host the meet here in Elgin on November 18th. Plenty of room for cars at our farm. Let me get a head count for the number of people attending, and I will reserve a room for the barbeque. Just let me know if you want to do this, and I will post directions and details.

Greetings from Munich Germany. Haven't seen any cobras but I did find a Lamborgini dealership.
Joe you beat me to the punch. I was going to contact you and see if we could cruise to your place after BBQ. That was a blast lasst time.
Can anyone tell me for sure it the Hotel has been book and if so what are the dates. Also, anyone know how many rooms we normally occupy.
