Austin/Houston January Meet
Is anyone still up for the combined Austin/Houston meeting in Brenham on Jan 13th? How about Dallas or ??? Any takers? Just thought I'd bring it up now to get folks thinking about it.

David, Pat and I are still planning for this. Are we still going to meet up in Brenam? If so I think we will stay at the Ant Inn for the night. It's a great old restored hotel in town, good parking.

Sounds Good Too Me
I still need to double check with the Boss and see if she would like to attend. Sounds like a good time.

That would be cool if I can get my car registered in time. Would be the first Cobra meet where I actually had a car!

"Turnkey Cobra replica"
I thought I was up for this meet, but the hits just keep on coming. On Dec. 18 after some 38 months I finally picked up my car (on a trailer), from Holliday Motorsports in Huntsville, TX. Knowing that another Holliday creation(Rich Lihou's car) had spun a bearing with less than 50 miles on the engine, the first thing I did was take the car directly to have the oil changed. The oil didn't look too bad so I thought I was home free. The next day I took the car to a local auto shop to have a few things fixed and get the car inspected. While the guys were trying to tune the engine it quit running and would not turn over again. When we could not turn the engine over with a breaker bar, we finally pulled the pan and found (you guessed it!), a spun main bearing. This is with virtually no miles on this engine. The engine is now in the hands of a PROFESSIONAL engine builder, but it looks like it will be 4 to 6 weeks before it's ready to go. This was supposed to be a turnkey Cobra replica, but after 38 months not only is it not finished, but much of what has been done was not done right. I won't get into the numerous problems with the car in this forum, but when I get a final estimate as to what it will cost to fix and finish this car(I plan to do most of the work myself), I will post details on the Consumer Watch Forum. Other than that, things are just great! Happy New Year!

Brenham on Jan 13?
Is this get together on? If so, where can the details be found? All I need is the time and place to link up. Debby and I are only an hour away and wouldn't be staying over. There are a couple of nice one to two hour scenic drives in the Brenham area as well.
Sorry to learn of Larry's problems with the car. Sounds like somebody can't build engines or kits. Best wishes on getting it fixed. Looks like it is a great combination once you get it properly sorted. I'm looking forward to seeing it soon, hopefully at the Spring Meet in Austin. Don't let the *%#$@ get you down!

Yes, the plan is to meet at the Brenham Airport at about 10:30 for lunch. I have to leave now, but I'll post some details later tonight or Sunday.
Mike (cobraduke), would you be interested in planning a little cruise for after lunch? I know very little about the area.

A Few Details
Let's meet Saturday Jan 13th at the Southern Flyers Diner at about 10:30 or 11:00. Rain, shine, warm, or cold. If the weather's bad, come in your daily driver. It's decorated as an old 50s style diner. The vittles are supposed to be excellent. Info at: www.brenhammunicipalairport.com

Yep, we can plan the cruise. I'll have hard copy maps when we meet. If the weather is as good as we got today, should be a blast.

At this point it doesn't seem like too many Austin Cobra folks are going next weekend based off the thread responses. If the Austin metro bunch is truly going, are there any plans for us to caravan together? Seems like the logical thing to do...strength in numbers, etc.
So do we need a roll call of those going to get this to happen?

Don't know what the problem is but seems like everyone is asleep. Maybe they will wake up in a day or two.

Looks like a wet weekend coming up. Is this a rain or shine meet? Doesn't matter to us since we're driving the Navigator SUV.
