AWSOME!
But.....
1) I so want to see pics of the engine and drivetrain, and
2) How much does it cost.

That was a really good report. The car has received a bunch of automotive news reports, but I think this one rates the 'best' I've seen.
Now if I recall VW is involved with the basic motor design in some way. I saw a schematic of the engine and it's quite impressive with more 'gears' and stuff going on than you would think possible. Like the 4 turbos! Seems to me it's similiar to the VW "W" block design, not a V, but a 'W'.
VW's "W-6", in production now. Think THREE of them end to end, 18 cylinders! Oh, and it's four wheel drive.

16? Looks like the original concept engine didn't make it into production. It appears this one is still a "W", but two V8's instead of 3 V6's. Wild stuff that gas mileage calc, at 250 mph it runs out of gas in 12 minutes.

Koenigesgg, a top speed of only 395 kmh? Pfffttt, second place is the first looser. 407 kmh is 253 mph.

Has anyone read the January '07 issue of Sports Car International?
There's a "master Mechanic" by the name of Klaus Weineck who lives in Bad Gandersheim, Germany who has a Cobra that IS FASTER THAN THE BUGATTI VEYRON!!!!! (maybe not top speed, but acceration to around 200mph) The article says that it is the fastest naturally aspirated car ever built. The acceration is absolutely Brutal.
The car is a Cobra replicar (like most of us) and he designed and built a 780C.I monster motor putting out mass power. He had to build alot of components himslef, to withstand the massive power of this car.
1,100 HP
1,297 TQ
Runs
124 mph in 4.9 seconds!!
186 mph in 10 seconds!! That is FAST!!!!!

Klaus Weineck's Cobra is very impressive:

I rather be in the Bugatti at speeds in excess of 200MPH, that Cobra will be all over the road.
