A day with TDE
Well...Christmas, 21st birthday and Valentine presents were all cashed in last Saturday at Texas Motor Speedway. Myself, my daughter and a new found friend Gary (clubcobra Bwana Snake) challenged ourselves to learn more, a LOT more, about road racing.
Almost an hour in classroom seats, two hours in rental car seats, and the rest in our own car seats we progressed from daily humdrum drivers to novice pavement pounding lineslingers. Well almost.
While wonderful instructors at Texas Driving Experience let us loose, a young worker held my camcorder for 30 minutes trying to find this "spare" in the view finder. I've edited it down to about 4 1/2 minutes. He didn't capture Gary (white Corvette), very little of my daughter (red Mustang), but a bunch of me continuously learning more every time I made another loop. The young lady at the beginning is Caroline getting some last few bits of information.
You'll also notice there is a lot of activity within the TMS compound. I usually add tunes to my videos, but the roar from my car and other is just too impressive.

Thanks to ALL who helped us out, ESPECIALLY Jay. Great cars, better people.

I don’t know how many of the local group have taken the Intro to Road Racing but it would be a hoot to get a bunch of Cobras out for the event.
I want to make a special comment on how professionally TDE handled the events, the excellence of the people and equipment used to stage the events and I was particularly impressed with condition the ZO6’s you were using in your program. You guys keep up the good work.

I was going to come out and watch and photograph, but the weather scared me off.
Another good video! I'm sure the inside front tire really was lifting off but you just couldn't see it because of the filming distance. Looks like great fun.
I see you left your numbers on. Did you check that with your insurance man? Just wondering what the deal was there.
Can't wait for the next one. I see March, April, etc. Sounds like a Spring Fling now that mine's back together!
