Factory Five customer service problems
I was wondering if anyone else has had problems with Factory Five's customer service ( or lack there-of ). These guys won't even return phone calls---needless to say I have a completed (needs paint) FFR Roadster for sale and am looking for a Lone Star or Hurricane or any other manufacturer that supplies customer service with the kit.

I can't say I've ever heard of anyone at FFR not returning a phone call. Are you leaving voicemail for a specific person, and if so, could they be out for the day or week on vacation or otherwise?

None of the above, I've talked to people (mark, mike, kerri, etc.) each one told me they would call back, never heard from anyone. This spans from when I picked up the kit 4/13/2005 until today.

Why sell if you're finished with your 1-1/2 year build? At this point, I'd think you'd be needing very little customer service?

Jack,
I sent you a "PM" since you do not list an email address in your profile.

After 1500 miles the exhaust brackets are breaking the sidepipes, don't want to deal with these kinds of problems. 1 month, 1 1/2 years, or 10 years doesn't matter, a little customer service is all I ask. I am tired of FFR's lip service and do not wish to advertise or be seen in their product any longer.

Wow, I'm surprised to hear that. Are you sure you installed the sidepipe brackets correctly? There should be rubber attaching it to the frame to allow for movement. If you have it attached with a hard bracket then I can see how the torque of your motor will cause something to break.
As far as customer service, I've never had any issues with them not doing anything they said. I had to call them twice, once for a replacement windshield arm that was not bent correctly and a misshapened trunk...both items were sent to me within a week when I called. My car has been on the road now for 3 years and about 10k miles and I have not had a single issue.
Did you email them using the redline link on their website?

Yes they are installed correctly with rubber hangers exactly as learned in the build school and as shown in the build manual. As far as customer service, I've never been able to get them to DO anything that they said. No email via redline link, just person to person --on the phone lip service

Your's is about 100 cars older than mine (assuming you have a MK II, there was some weird serial number overlap on the MK IIIs) and I know I received an updated design sidepipe hanger (which I didn't use since I made an undercar system). You might try the FFCobra site and see if someone has some ideas on why it's happening. I know the Spec cars have had issues but there's a lot of street driven FFRs out there without broken hangers. Gotta be some reason.
I've had a little trouble contacting them before so I undertand your frustrations. I had back order issues early in the build but they've always come through for me.

from what i have heard a lot of people have recently left ffr, you may be trying to contact someone who is no longer there. if you have a mkII, they no longer make that style pipe or hanger, the mkIII has a new design you may have to switch over to the new style. if you go to the ffr forum you could do a search and find a picture of the new set up.

I have 4375 and they sent me new hangers a couple years back...I never had any issues with the ones before, but I put them on anyway. Do you have any pictures to look at? I've never heard of this happening, and I know of at least 15 FFR's in the Houston area.
Although, I don't know what FFR would do about it at this point seeing as how you have 1,500 miles on the car...anything could have happened.

After doing a search on ffcobra.com it does look like this has happened before, does your like this? I would suggest just taking it to a muffler job and have them repair it...shouldn't cost much...

Similar but I have a MKIII, that looks like a MKI or MKII. FFR is going to take care of this problem thanks to Mike Pisani.

Gosh, I didn't know I was a wimp. I wonder if all the folks with Shelby's, SPF's, Kirkhams, etc. know that they are wimps too? Wish I was a REAL man like you!

No one important.
By the way check your other thread for a KISS fix, Mr. Know-it-all.
Cheers!
