my pics from Austin
hey, everybody! had a few minutes, so thought i'd do the regular 'running commentary'..... (i'll let ya know when i'm done, got quite a few pics)
enjoy!
First off, Thursday afternoon. Bwana gets started on his margarita, and THEN decides to come register. Colleen and I hang out in the registration 'trailer' off and on. Colleen is quite the trouper, hiding in the trailer, being the boss...
Miles gets this brand spankin' new trailer, but has yet to back the cobra off of it. Will it catch?? will it clear?? the questionable characters in the background are laying odds on it catching the oil cooler. Miles was swearing and praying, quite an interesting combination, dontcha think???
Kelly was happy to show us his lesbian side. as an added bonus, we were quite educated and enlightened as to WHY he is a lesbian Gashole! (you'll have to ask Jim Woodard for the details!)
after a lot of fun for Thursday night, we all slept in Friday. well at least i did. sleeping til 8 is late, isn't it! ok, maybe it was 9???
looked outside and man was it cloudy, dark, overcast, rainy, gloomy, messy looking like a bad day for a cruise. I immediately took this photo of the cool lineup of F250's. Jim, Kristen, Jay. I straightened out my hair, and well by 5 minutes later the wind and humidity had turned it into my purty little afro head!!!

hmmmmm. looks like a mischievious little boy got hold of my camera during lunch at the Oasis! Bad boy! Don't touch!! Bad boy!
$1 at the next meet for whoever replies first to who that badboy is.....
We had a nice cruise out to the oasis, and enjoyed lunch by the drought hit Lake Travis.
looks like somebody had FUN playing with my camera, doesn't it???
pretty Colleen
the parking lot at the Oasis was, well, just a bit dusty! cough cough.....
bad news when you can't see the restaurant for the backhoes, frontend loaders, diggers, survey trucks, etc. nice fine coating of dust over everything! wow!
back at the hotel, enjoying the late arrivals for Friday afternoon. Starting to get a nice lineup.

Mike with KitCar Builder, took a pic of kidnapped Pepe. Somebody had the NERVE (but surely it wasn't Ed!) to kidnap Pepe and put him on Ray's car. Someone else had the compassion to cover his sweet stinky head with a cup-to ward off the potential raindrops!!
Saturday morning I was able to sleep in a bit, and we all hit the road around 10:30 for the cruise to El Arroyo. We had done El Arroyo in the past, and really liked it. Thanks to the Austin group for 'making it happen' again! I think it's a big hit with us- great parking, decent cruise, good food, lots of room for all of us to spread out! thank you thank you!
here's gary (bwana) with his nephew, Anne.
(my friend Joanne managed to snap this off, and 'Anne' was standing up in the passenger seat!!!)
can you believe that sky didn't bring a deluge on us?? Unbelievable!!! hardly a drop!
Pepe lined up....
just a teeny bit humid at lunch....
lots and lots of Cobra's, every direction you looked.....
more and more...
anybody get a count at lunch?? I bet more than 70 this year, but i don't know....
off for a quick 5-10 minute run to the photo shoot. Great location, altho' slightly treacherous getting to it.... we had to cross a creek, drive thru boulders, and scale huge cliffs- just to get to this dinky little horsey paddock....
the setting was dang pretty! loved it!!
Stacey had to be careful where she put those pretty little toostie's- watch out for horse poo, Stacey!
heels, sandals, and horses don't mix!
lots of pictures taken. I think a higher perspective would have been good, but what do i know??? DON'T ANSWER THAT! loved the location. we need to get a bucket truck, next time.
can you find Pepe, now????
(he's there, i can see him)
(the blue and white one )
lots of chatting, waiting for the pictures to get taken. Then we all hauled back down the hill for our 'annual meeting'. Lasted what, 10 minutes??? Perfect!!!!
awwww, doesn't Paul look, well almost 'touched'??? he looks so angelic, so cherubic, so so sweet!! awwwwww, congrats, Paul! how many Aggies is that, now???
David passing the gas to Paul...

Saturday night, and let the festivities begin!!!
start the night out right with Jay giving taxi rides.... here's James getting a quick ride to nowhere!
the Houston group made a grand entrance for their tailgate party, with these precious young ladies arriving by special coach, to serve our dinner- sweet young college girls, trying to make a buck with what God gave them. Aren't they such high achieving young ladies??? good for you, girls!
i took several photos- you know, for personal reference and data for when i get 'enhanced' and lipo'ed.
'fraid 20 years would have to be removed, as well. ok, maybe 25.
to enhance our youthful self-esteems, us girls thought we might head down to Sixth street to find the local tattoo parlor. John was most helpful, and even went so far as to find a 'good one' by GPS. Thanks, John. We had several offers of folks willing to drive us down there. hmmm, it was: Colleen, Joanne, Stacey, me, Marge, RaeLynn, and Susan. Was that it?? RaeLynn already has one, and gave us all the details. I'm not sure we could stand the pain, but surely it can't be as bad as having babies!!
I volunteered to be second. I definitely wasn't gonna be first....
Joanne let it be known 'there wasn't enough tequila in Mexico....'
well we finally chickened out. Rumor has Stacey might just have one, near her navel piercing!! wow! to be young again.....
Evidently Jim was having trouble standing on two legs with those beauties hanging all around him, so the thoughtful Houston club gave him a Cobra walker, so he could 'take the weight off that third leg'!
Jim... now why did you get that walker??? i never did hear the real reason. Anybody want to enlighten us????
David thought he could win the Hooter contest. Honey, you look good, but an A cup just isn't gonna cut it with hooters. sorry!
What really concerns me, is what in the world is Jim doing back there?? David, did it hurt??? I'm very very worried about this!!!!!
a little dark, i know, but can you imagine what those cute little tushes are gonna look like after a few chillen's???
sorry it's dark. too far away. I had some folks wondering why i was even taking the pic! well i can appreciate a tiny behind. a long long time ago, in a galaxy far far away....
Sunday morning..... ugh....
hey, what are best friends for??? here's Joanne, my bf, for hmmm well a long time, bringing us doubles of coffee! now who would have thought of that??? smart girl, she is!
she's been to Austin with me every year, and Tulsa, too. what a trouper!! not sure she knows what a Cobra IS, but has fun riding with me! thanks, Joanne!
Alan's best view.... too bad he's already taken!!
we both fueled up at the Shell on the way home, and I guess i was going a mite slow for speedy gonzales, so off they went, and Joanne and i managed to go at a slower pace- 80 mph. (only occasionally, on the downhill side of a hill, promise! )
that's all, i think. took a few more, but this about tells it. between everybody's photo's you get a pretty good idea of how much fun we had! Best meet yet, and can hardly wait for next year!
thanks for a great job, Austin, Houston.
muy bueno.
Kristen
all in all done.
(in case you missed it the first time)
HEY, YA'LL INNUNDATE ME WITH CHICKIE PHOTOS- PAYBACK IS HECK, RIGHT??

I think I might be able to ID the bad boy photographer. It looks like a face I recognize. But that ass in the last one I definitely know. It's the first thing I noticed about him.

So who's Stacey? She's a cutie if I do say so myself. Of course she doesn't hold a candle for you to run by, Kristen; but she's still a cutie.
BTW...I have a feeling most of those Hooters girls (maybe except for one) would be in the same boat as David if it weren't for strategically placed padding and underwire.

the MRS. 'texas-saluki'
she is very much a cutie!
the Hooter's girls? well they looked pretty much there to me. Fake maybe, but there.
one had a butterfly tattoo 'there', too! doesn't that hurt???
btw. Stacey is taller, slimmer and younger than I, but i don't think she drives their cobra!!!

Way Too Much Fun
hey, littlecobra Kristen you guys are having way too much fun in TEXAS. I would like to know HOW my cobra got down to Texas without me knowing I have the proof it is in one of the pictures. I have that thing chained down in the garage, it must have broken out. Looks like everyone had a great time. I hoped that James tipped the driver after the ride. Started new job going crazy, I didn't send out picture yet sorry Will try and get it out this week. Rick Ps May have money to repair car for R&G, too early to tell but 6 day work weeks, will help . Later

Rick, so great to hear from you! enjoyed the phone chat the other day.
I'm pretty sure James tipped the driver!!
If not.... well Jay will get him back in St. Louis, I'm sure.
We had a really great event this year. The best one yet, IMHO.
Yeah, amazing that there is a car so similar to yours in Texas. It belongs to David Shelton, the most esteemed Texas Gashole, and our past Texas CC president. He's the guy in the Hooter's contest, trying to compete with the cutie girls.
Congrats on the new job, don't go crazy- we want you fairly sane at run n gun. I'm really looking forward to the event this year!! I surely expect you to be there!!!
Send the photo when you can; no big hurry. I look forward to receiving it, though.
seeya in about 6 months!!! yea!
Kristen
