Change in dining locations. As if it makes a difference. All else stays the same.

TaMolly's would not accommodate us, so we're eating at Rio Verde. Mario the manager is excited to welcome us.

Cross your fingers for nice weather. Forecast calls for slight chance of showers.

So far I have a count of 8. This WILL be fun.

Thumbs up Good weather

So Rio Verde's it is! The weather is going to be perfect! Forecast high of 81 and partly cloudy (based on a recent update). Come on all you folks around the metroplex, this is shaping up to be one fine cruise on some neat back country and scenic roads.
Don't miss out on this opportunity.

Yes, TaMolly's is usually maxed out Saturdays and Sundays there. Good food though. I am sure Rio is just as good. There is a Chili's there too.

30 years ago in Texas, you were not a real town unless you had a Dairy Queen.

Today you are not a real town unless you have a Sonic, Wal-Mart and Chili's.

Todays update:

Everything looks great for the drive. Larry has driven the route and we have decided to shorten the drive length, and added a few pit stops. Fuel and restroom. The weather looks as if it's going to cooperate. Mid 60's to mid 70's.

Items to bring:
Sun screen!!!
Light jackets.
Sun glasses and anti-blow off hats.
Ear plugs?? WHAT????
Cell phones with paper to write everybody's down.
Windex and paper towels to keep the bugs from building up.
Anybody want to chime in for suggestions?

We NEED to leave at 9:00 AM to make good time to Paris. So be there at 8:45.

Questions???

Disssssmissssed!

Ya, but it's only a 20% chance. No problem.
We're going to try and be out of the house here in Denton by 7:15 or so. I'll need to top off the tank and assume there will be a gas station close to the Roadhouse meeting place.
Looking forward to a fun and fast (for Kristen) drive. See you Sunday morning!

Hey hey,littlecobra
There are straights where you can easily stretch your littlecobra over the century mark...followed with threshold breaking for a 30mph turn. Ya'll be careful out there, ya hear!

Ok, got my sunscreen, can of "flat fix", checked the fluids, checked belts and suspension for any loose bolts.

Got radio, decided it was useless and put it back ;-)

For the day of driving, I will be swapping my sidepipes. I"ll take off my 3 1/2" pipes that I can roll a baseball through, and swap for my 3" set that I can roll a tennis ball through. THe 3" also have forward facing swirled scallops, so that helps a little on the decibel level.

Both are pretty loud on those rare occaisions when the pedal is down

I know Kristen doesn't doesn't mess with braking very often.
So just a reminder,it's the one to the left of the one you keep on the floor.

Hey Fred, I took mine to get it inspected today at the Kwik-Lube you told me about......no problems at all. They did not even hassle me about not having windshield wipers. Easiest $12.50 I've spent in a long time.

Thanks for the tip!

Default Directions to the Texas Roadhouse in McKinney

from last October when we met there for the Wolfe City cruise :

"If folks leave US 75 North at exit 39 (Eldorado), an immediate right from the offramp will dump them into the parking lot of Texas Roadhouse. I suggest the group gather on the north side of the restaurant. Depart east on Eldorado to intersect Hwy 5 ..."

Anybody coming north on TX 121 from points west would take the US75 North exit and then bear right when joining US75 because exit 39 is right there.

See y'all there!
Sam
