Alan and I are in for breakfast. Can't do the show though because the GT has been requested to appear by the Murphy PD.

For their annual Safety Day. Hahaha, y'all thought he'd finally gotten busted, didn't ya?

But more importantly he's going to be passing out candidate cards for me so people will know to vote for me and that they can walk right inside City Hall to do early voting.

We found the oil leak!!!! The speedo cable rubbed a tiny hole in the valve cover, which was spitting oil on the side and back of the engine compartment. Which in turn traveled down and back along the frame and body. (A new mechanic I found had a device which pressurizes the engine with smoke, pretty cool ) So if the covers arrive tomorrow (Friday), I'll be there bright and early Saturday.

Um, Funky Winkerbean won. Sorry, I can't remember the man's name, but of course the guy with the real one won.
Don, Fred, John Russell and myself won Class Awards.
Jay should be glad he brought his truck to bring back all the trophies!
His CoPo won 1st in Camaro/Nova. The GTX won 1st in Mopar. He won another 1 or 2 Class Awards for the 55 Ford 150 and something else. I do lose track...
They had a live auction where Jay picked up a battery charger, Don grabbed a stereo for the garage and I nabbed a fancy new floor jack. A front end piece off of Carl Edward's car signed by Jack Roush went for $1000!
There were over 200 cars there and they raised over $6000 for the HELEN McGRAW KIDNEYTEXAS FOUNDATION.
It was a great time in between sprinkles and there were lots of top notch cars.

His name is Mark Winkleman. At one time he owned two originals! wow!
He's a nice guy, and i STILL have two of his trophies from '05 here in my garage. (they look like I won them)
still need to post pics from the cruise two weeks ago, and also from show today. Maybe in a bit.
Congrats, Miles. Gary won or placed in that show several years. In '04, when i had just gotten the car, and it still looked 'good' (as opposed to now looking loved!) I didn't place at all. I was bummed. It's a tough show with a lot of good competition.
All those waxers....
congrats again!

Hey Kristen,

I had to leave around noon but Winky sent me an email last night - that my GT350R Replic won class award in Sports Car so I told him to donate it to your collection in the garage. Change the plaques and use them for some Kids events!!!!

hey, thanks, Gary! congrats on your win. Not surprising, the car looks great!
Should have taken a pic of it next to my Shelby. I love the look of the two of them together.
I told Mark I'd bring him his trophies to Tulsa, but he acted like he didn't want me to do that- just something else to bring home- but i think i will anyway, because the once a year I see him he's in the Cobra, and the trophies are too big to fit in his car, especially with his son!

All 3 look good on my freezer tho'- looks like i won them!

a few pics from AER, yesterday.
First one is of my 500 and Nan S.'s. She got hers last June.

A few lazy dudes bumming a ride from Gary from the IHOP back to the show.
they sat at that light forever- Gary was in the turn lane and he wanted to go straight. I guess eventually they got there.
We had about 19 at breakfast.

nice little grouping. I don't know who owns the red/silver stripe Cobra, or this one in front.
All nice!!!

They had a Roush Mustang, and a Foosh Mustang (GT's) and even a GT-Hertz at the show. Not overly impressed with the look of the Foosh one. It was dirty, too!!
Little too much 'bling' for me on the Foosh one.
The Roush looked ok.

Fred and Kristen.

I thought this was a nicely restored/maintained car. Very clean. There were a lot of cars there, and I didn't take pics of very many.

There were a lot of nice cars there. It seemed like there were a lot of empty spaces; I'm sure the cloudy skies and threat of bad weather scared off a lot of folks. Congrats again to all those that won in our little group.
Who owns the Red/silver stripe one?? It looks nice.

I thought the same thing too before I went back and checked previous years. I'm sure there were a few that didn't show because of the on & off drizzle.

2002 - 229 total 22 Cobras
2003 - 182 total
2004 ?
2005 - 258 total 9 Cobras
2006 - 267 total 13 Cobras
2007 - 251 total 12 Cobras
