Gregg Herdlitchka's deployment to Iraq
There is a very touching photo of Gregg (Austin Cobra club) and his son, Conner, on the front page of the American Statesman this morning and a follow-up article that quotes Donna, Gregg, and the two kids liberally beginning on the front page of the Metro & State section and continuing to page B5 of that section. The article is about Gregg's National Guardmen's unit leaving to serve in Southern Iraq. According to the article, his unit will be escorting convoys and working in a prison. We wish Gregg well and a safe return!
Perhaps a more technical guy than me can scan the picture and/or the article for the website.

Joe,
Here is a link to the AAS website with two photo's of him and his son.

I don't know Greg very well except from him scolding me and sending me to the back of the line because I wasn't ready that moment for the cruise in Austin. My wife Yancey and myself wish him God's speed, a safe deployment, and RETURN HOME SOON!!!!!

Greg "what's his name?", be safe and take care. Say hi to my brother while you're there. He works for Blackwater on security detail.
We wish you the best and come back to us safely!!!

Greetings
Thank you all for the kind words. I finally have a few minutes to write and read a few emails. Right now I am Fort Bliss and will be here for a few more weeks. Training is tough and the weather is very Hot. Other wise I am doing great and the family is getting along fine. Very little computer access and getting a cell phone signal is impossible. But as an old soldier if you are *****ing you are happy.
I will post more when I can and before I ship.
God Bless you all
MSG Gregg Herdlitchka

I heard from Gregg today.
He says to tell everyone hello and he is cooking in the Texas heat.
He is still stateside at least until mid August.
Everyone say a prayer for our soldiers.

Gregg,
Stay safe, keep your head and your backside down and watch where you step. Make sure we get an email address and let us know if you need anything. If memory serves me correctly, chips and salsa are hard to find in the neck of the woods.
