Here are some of the pics I shot at the Tulsa event. What a great time! Thanks to everyone who had a hand in organizing the program...GREAT JOB!
Enjoy the pictures. http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...sa_2007_51.JPG Kristen charging hard down the straight heading for the b!tch...brake, down shift, visualize, turn in and hit it. http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...sa_2007_05.JPG John Ross casting a Texas "Howdy" at Sssonic with his side ssshifter, Sssammy. http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...sa_2007_10.JPG The new Southwest Backdraft Dealer boasting his new offering...Hey James, what's the sticker price on that screamer? http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...sa_2007_11.JPG The guy on the roof wasn't a sniper...the Coupe was lookin' good. "Rain"? No Problem. http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...sa_2007_48.JPG Steve at the wheel, Sammy navigating was overheard saying, "Only a couple more turns Steve, and we'll be lapping Kristen! Let's go for it!" There are more pics in my gallery including the 2008 KR. |

Hey there all. I won't tell you who this is until someone guesses. Ill give you a hint.........Adult Entertainment (not porn so chill everyone). Just wanted to join your forum and express my thanks for everyone showing me such a good time in tulsa. You are all a great bunch of guys. I didn't meet a single person I didn't like out there and that really says something. I hope to see all you guys next year as I will hopefully be bringing 2 cars. Anyone guess yet?

Well lets see....... Hickey on the neck, wins a supercharger in a raffle and had 10 "dead solders" on the table at the end of the banquette. Am I close?????
|
Hickey on the neck AND wins a supercharger? Man that dude IS lucky......bet I know who it is.........could he be from Dallas?
|
not THIS happy guy, is it??? ;)
http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...m/DSC02044.JPG hmmmm not sure it's him tho'; can't quite tell if that hickey is on his neck.....  |
This is a photo I bought from Clyde Coman. He has some great shots. (not to take away from Larry the aggressor)
Just "slinging" in the rain. http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...n_the_rain.jpg I was having multi-tasking issues here: it was braking HARD, shifting, waving to my fans, reaching across the cockpit to turn the windshield wipers on and off, remembering to breathe, then finally EXHILARATE, all while it was pouring rain. The only one I know who can do that while even smoking a cigarette was Clois. He's my NEW hero. (Sorry Larry) |
I'm just gonna 'tag' my pics along with Larry's, since he starts out with ME anyway!!!
here's a shot from the Sonic. http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...m/DSC02008.JPG forgot to take my camera (and cobra) to the track on Friday, what with the rain and all. So.... couldn't capture Miles' spectacular driving exhibition on film. bummer. So.... Friday night, at the tailgate party. Sam did a great job grilling all that that that MEAT. yummm! sausage, weenies, brats.... I have a lot to say about all that but in the interest of GOOD TASTE I'll refrain.... But.... that big, thick brat was really good... ;) thank god nobody caught that great big bite on film!! Matt- no camera handy?? ;) http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...m/DSC02011.JPG John manages quite well one handed! Amazing he drove his rig and then the Cobra all over. Find it bizarre yet somehow natural that a tandem team could drive/shift the Cobra down the city streets of Tulsa. Looked a little odd but it worked!! :D http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...m/DSC02012.JPG Saturday. out at the track, and waiting for everything to dry up. Clois was getting 'hot' so tried to figure out something with the thermostat. He ran a few more sessions, so guess he got it! http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...m/DSC02015.JPG nice group of buddies on the track. Saturday we went CLOCKWISE, and that was quite different. Of course i've only driven this track a couple of times before, so it was that radical for me. I'm sure the guys that had been driving for a couple of days really noticed the difference. http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...m/DSC02020.JPG a shot going DOWN into the b!tch, not up out of it. You can really see the elevation change on the backside. Blind hills, either direction. The red/yellow flag came out a couple of times- yup, TURTLE CROSSING THE ROAD! nobody wanted to hit those turtles and cause the splat that spun the next guy... http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...m/DSC02021.JPG Elaine caught this pic of me cruising into the b!tch. I watched a few times from the fence, and noticed a lot of folks braking 'late' into it. So.... i wanted to make sure i didn't brake too late but wow it comes up quick and if you miss.... I chirped a couple of times before downshifting. guess i didn't quite get the hang of it. :JEKYLHYDE http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...m/DSC02033.JPG well had to have a photo of helmet head somewhere.  http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...m/DSC02029.JPG |
Saturday night at the banquet.
Nice tribute to Dick Smith. really missed him this year, and part of why I didn't do the drags this year. :( http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...m/DSC02041.JPG unveiling of the GT500KR. bit blurry. sorry! bad flash in the banquet room. :o http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...m/DSC02045.JPG another view... http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...m/DSC02046.JPG Amy B did a nice job of speaking. I think she brings a lot of positive, get r done attitude to the company, and is building a good reputation among Cobra enthusiasts. Me and AmyB. :) http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...m/DSC02048.JPG Sunday at the carshow, and a nice showing of Cobras. We managed to hang on til 12:30 or so, when the showers began for a bit. Many of us then packed up and headed on down to Texas then. http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...m/DSC02050.JPG nice shot of Pepe's admirers... http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...m/DSC02051.JPG Randy and me. (Juggernaut) nice meeting and chatting with you, Randy! http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...m/DSC02052.JPG eating for the SECOND time in 4 days at the McDonald's on the Indian Nation Turnpike. grilled chicken sandwich on Thursday, crispy chicken sandwich on Sunday. :JEKYLHYDE Lee, John, Tod and me. my buddy Joanne took the pic. http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...m/DSC02055.JPG that's it for now. will add a bunch more to my gallery later. off to softball!! :p :D Kristen thanks, Larry for 'letting' me tag on to your thread. It looked like we had a few going. :D |
Thanks for sharing the pics everyone. I really enjoyed seeing everyone this week. I will start a new post this week with a video that the boys made at the track and some of my pics...
James |
well welcome Adam (blown hickey) glad you joined, stick around and soon enough you will want a Cobra, I mean a real one not a SVT:3DSMILE:

Great shots everyone. Steve you are a set of slicks away from being Stripped A$$ quick. Larry thanks for sharing the pictures. John you have a great sounding Cobra with those shorty pipes. And of course Kristen was lovely as usual. So many great people that I got to meet this weekend and by the way has anyone talked to Miles since he got back?
James I want to personally congratulate you on your drivings skills because not many others could go into the fastest corner without brakes, three Cobras in front of you and me on your tail and not hit something. For those of you that don't know James had a BRAKE LINE failure where the braided stainless brake line had not been crimped correctly (or at all). Scarry stuff. In spite of the ocassional rain drops I think everything went pretty well, except for the exceptionally L O N G drivers meeting on Saturday held by the SVT group. Clois |
Clois, When the City unearthened (for those of you from Sunnyvale, that means dug up) the '57 Belaire I checked my archives and found this old picture of you.

hmm! I'm feeling that some people from up north might think some people from out east may not understand common vocabulary words like 'unearthened'.  ;) |
Actually Larry,
That is our friend David Nemitz. I made him a spoiler like mine several years ago. |
Another photo from Clyde Coman. I decided to order a disc of all the photo's he shot of my car. If interested, go to the Hallett web site and look in the Photo Gallery. He has one photo of each car participating.
I'm just happy I'm looking up the track, and not over the hood. Looks like I found a new avatar. http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...Blue_Cobra.jpg |
Yes Clyde took a ton of great shots.....I ordered the CD as well. He made me look good (which is pretty tough)!!
http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...Blue_Cobra.jpg |
Now this is one of my favorite photo's. James Yale in that BDR "chasing" me in my mighty SPF. He was so upset, he stomped on his brakes and broke a line to keep from being embarrassed.
http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...dium/L-049.JPG Actually, I'm running for my life. |
Great shot Steve!
One of the great things at Tulsa was the Vintage Car racers. Most are members of CVAR http://www.corinthianvintagerace.com/ and mostly Mustangs. CAUTION: WHAT YOU ARE ABOUT TO SEE ARE NOT, I REPEAT, NOT IMAGES OF COBRAS. http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...a_20070014.JPG http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...a_20070013.JPG http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...a_20070008.JPG http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...a_20070007.JPG http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...a_20070004.JPG Sorry for a little blurriness, but these guys were HAULIN'!! |
