Trifecta
Ok. call it what you will. Triple Crown. Hat Trick. Triple Play. My hubby called it a 'trifecta' so there you have it.
You can go weeks without touching a 'fun car' and then when it rains it pours!!!!!
Saturday, the monthly 'first Saturday' meet of the DFW Cobra group. We met at IHOP in Lewisville (egypt, of course ) and while i'm often amused by ya'll's forays into cutie girls with your cars (hooter's shots, barenekked ladies strewn over ya'll's cars....) when this group of Firefighters showed up in TWO engines from the Carrollton Fire Department, I just couldn't resist!!!!!
and, as Sammy said.... Hot Babe!!!!!!
then.... Sunday, the Annual Picnic for SCAT. Up in north Garland (egypt, too, just a different direction ) at a perfect place. lots of shade, tons of great cars, and a large group of fun friends. took the 500, as i consider this more of a 'real' Shelby than the Cobra, and yes, i know it's really just a fancy mustang. I paid extra for that Cobra on the side and Shelby on the trunk!!!
Monday, the Labor Day Parade, also in Garland, but not quite as far away. About 20 minutes. Not too bad.
Toted along Jeb Hensarling, us congressman in D.C. He decided to walk the extra long MILE AND A STINKIN' HALF route, that just about did ol Gus in. It was hot, and SLOW. Gus likes tooling along at 40 mph. 3 mph was tough. Kept watching that temp gauge. it got up there, but didn't blow. Lucky!!!
think i'm gonna start decling LONG parades, but it's hard to know. I ended up with about 6 kids and a mom in the stang, while Jeb walked with about 20 other volunteers passing out candy. He's a nice guy, I think. don't know him very well, but seems nice enough. 50 years old, and his kids are itty bitty. 5 and 3, or something like that. Kids aren't old enough YET to be an albatross!
so there ya have it! My triple crown weekend.
time for a nap!
Saturday and Monday up at 6 or so.... ugh! so much for sleeping in on the holiday weekend. soon as those kiddo's head off to school tomorrow i'm gonna take a nap!!!
have a good rest of the afternoon, and stay safe!
kristen
oh yes... next Saturday the "laps for charity" in the 500. I thought they just went around 30-40 at TMS, you know, parade laps, but i was told yesterday we'll actually get up to 75-80. cool!

Trifecta... I thought you were talking about traffic tickets again.
Which by the way Kristen, I found your buddy on Hwy 80 today. Or should I say.....he found me. Yancey and I driving home from Java Ranch for a cup a tea, "shot" around a pick up, and there he was taking "pictures". 80 in a 60.
1st one in the car. Yancey just told me to "smile and take it like a man".
How much of a donation is that to the Dallas Sheriffs Department?????

Thanks for the photos Kristen! Good turnout on Saturday, although too much blue for me.
Much abliged to ye of denimed jeans and checkered shirt for the posthumous order of blueberry pancakes! They look as good as ever.
Annie would have not survived a 3 mph parade either, Kristen. Since the Hallett repairs, she's been running really really hot (water first, then oil) and I'm not convinced it's only the lack of the oil cooler.
