Default Houston Meeting - 9/8/07

The next meeting of the Houston Cobra Club will take place at 10:30 at the Topwater Grill in San Leon. The address is 815 Avenue O and directions from I-45 are take State 517 east to the blinking red light in San Leon, and go right on Ninth Street to the water.

See you there.

Hi Rick

I have just bought a Butler that will be here in about 30 days (coming from Seattle). I live in Houston and also have a home in McAllen. Would love to meet some Houston guys and learn a little about this monster I have bought...LOL. I will also be looking for someone who can be helpful with info on going to a Weber style EFI or maybe Webers...who knows.

Anyway, when is the next meeting? I would really like to attend.

Russ, we always meet on the 2nd Saturday of each month (sometimes we get together in between too). I don't think anyone has made any suggestions for a location for December yet. We are big on family participation. Wives, girlfriends, sons, and daughters are always welcome (especially the ladies). Cobras are optional. If the weather is bad, we just drive something else to the meetings. You need to sign up at the Houston Cobra Club on Yahoo Groups. That's where most of the planning and bullcrap takes place. Everyone is welcome. Heck, we even have a guy that drives an Orange Cobra and one with a Chevy engine.
Looking forward to seeing your Butler. Great cars and one of the first replicas produced! I think yours will be the only Butler in the Houston Club. What engine does yours have? Later, David.

Hi David,

I will sign up. My car has an aluminum 488 inch dry sump Dove Ford, Aldans, a Halibrand IRS and some other good stuff. I don't have the car yet, it has to be transported from Seattle. I hope to have it here sometime in December. It was one of the later cars built by Ron Butler.

Hope to meet you soon. The car will initially be in Houston, but I have a home in McAllen and that is where it is going to live full time. I am new to Cobras and looking to learn as much as I can. I will be looking to find some guys who know Weber style EFI. I want that look. Anyway, I am so excited about getting the car, I am like a kid sitting on the curb waiting...LOL.

Thanks

Sounds like a monster.
One of our guys, Dennis Mosley, is just finishing up converting his 428 to injectors.
