I am Glad Sumbody is havin' fun!
At TMS Saturday evening, waiting for the SCAT club's turn...
We had about 14 in our run group. Although written and said everywhere that the "max. speed" be 75, our pace car took off. So did the 6-7 cars in the front of the line. Then came a chicken. Then another chicken. Then another chicken. Then me..... Tried to get the chickens to move a little faster. Did the yoyo. That worked some. The 500 behind me caught on, and we'd lag back so we could zoom up.
fun!!!!!
needed about 5 more laps to make it really work, tho'.
the first chicken in line said "I got up to 80!" I'm happy for her...
I think Gary M. and a few at the front squeeked out 105 or so. wow!
The turtle group (that I'm sure would have been passed if given a couple of more laps ) maybe got up to 85-90.
Very impressed with the first trip to the track with the 500. Trucks rode along the wall so we couldn't hug the high bank, but getting as high up as we could was fun, and then swooping out of 3, down to 4, and the front straight was great. Well once we figured out the yoyo thing.
The worst part was when chicken #1 PUT ON THE BRAKES on the back straightaway.... her words... "I followed the rules, and didn't want to go over 75". Rules are great; I have no problem with rules. The pace car sets the rules. If the PC was going 50 the whole time, then fine. We go 50. If the PC goes 75... we go 75. If the PC goes 100, we go 100. I think he took us a bit faster 'cuz we were a good looking mustang group with fast cars. At the front of the line was Don A. with his great Mach 1. Love the color! Kinda butter yellow and lemon mixed together. He said he was momentarily surprised when the PC took off, but just thought oh well, let's go!!
Anyway, I'd drive across the metroplex anytime to do that again.
Very cool! Finally bought a bumper sticker with TMS on it for the trailer. Oh, and a tshirt with "Laps for Charity".
Ya'll should try this sometime! The Cobra group could easily do this. All you waxers could see what it's like on the big track without damaging anything or freaking out or anything. Very controlled, not all day, and fun!
Let's watch for the next one and go out as a Cobra group.

Don and me, getting ready to do 'PINKS' at TMS.
another shot, somebody emailed to me. I like this perspective, with the lineup behind us. Very cool!
Pulling out of pit lane onto the apron.
chicken #3, me and speed racer behind me.
the next lap we did 'THE YOYO'.
I've got a few more I'll upload.
Let's do this again sometime, with the Cobra group!!!!

Beautiful car Kristen,
I am jealous you got to play at TMS. How fast did you say you were going and can you outrun your GT in your Cobra? I seem to recall sometime this spring when this Blue Cobra flew by me at BREAK NECK speed with blonde hair blowing from side to side. I seem to also recall I was running the speed limit (75 mph) when I was passed. First Chicken...I don't think so!

Clois... no, not me the chicken!!!! If you look in the last photo, you'll see my car and the three CHICKENS are in FRONT of me. Phil (the guy who took the photo of my car) and I were just dyin' from going so slow. I could have gone really fast out there. Now maybe I'll 'get' the thrill of Nascar.
Very different feeling than the Cobra, for sure.
oh yes..... tooling along that nice hiway out to Hallett. I never saw you there Now THAT was fun! Faster than any track, for sure.
now tru... why in the world would you have a different opinion of me??? What changed it???
bought a 45 'oldies' off of ebay. By Dick Dale.... Wild Wild Mustang. That is going to be the 'theme song' for the 500.
Will go right in the 500 scrapbook.
The first Cobra book has 'hey little cobra', the '65 mustang has 'mustang sally' and now the 500 with 'wild wild mustang'. Fitting, I'd say.
hey Clois, did you get my dissertation today??
ANOTHER friday night football game. DCS, 42, Fort Worth Southwest, 0. Whooohooo! my boy got to play tons!! yea!!!
The JV won nicely last night. 24-0, and son #2 scored a TD.
happy over here. Volleyball at 9 am in the morning. ugh.....
think i'm skipping that one.
ya'll have a good weekend.
thinking of ya Gregg.

I wouldn't want anyone to get the wrong impression of you.
"A wild woman...chasing cars and bitting tires."
I am of the opinion that I shall have to venture to your neck of the woods at a time of the year that my cobra ( and its occupants ) do not have to endure high heat.
I am so glad you are having this fun.

The long gray ponytail and wifebeater tshirt were ok; the teeth thing tho' was the turnoff.

I bet that's going to burn....
How's the recovery coming Miles. We were looking forward to seeing you at Run and Gun this year. Since you are just hanging around watching Opra and Jerry Springer why don't you just come on up and help us with all the technical stuff (Hooters girl inspection, Coors Lite Girl Wardrobe malfunctions, etc.)

i dunno... but DCS is goin' to state!!!! (well the Varsity and coaches think they are!!!)
My older son is a junior, and plays hmmmm dunno. wing back and linebacker. Varsity. #2 plays running back and linebacker, JV. (he's the one that just said what position they play)
I go to home games and watched us stomp on ya'll!!! (I don't go to away games)
Fort Worth Christian beat us, both V and JV. bummer.
So I guess not ALL FW football has gone to he!! !

Clois,
The healing is coming along well. 2 weeks ahead of schedule. On a cane and trying to wean off that.
Hey, let us know when you're coming down to Frisco next time and we'll try and pull a meeting together so you can check out some fine Texas machinery.
First Saturday of the month is our regular meeting time, how fun if you could align with one of those.
Thanks for the well wishes,
