Hi fellas-
Unique FIA kit just showed up yesterday, need to get a bunch of stuff powdercoated and want to get the exhaust ceramic coated. Is there someone in town that you guys like?
Thanks,
Chris

Do NOT take it to Industrial Power Coaters. Ed Gilfus sent me there (no fault of Ed's that it turned out bad) but I not only got charged more than $200 more than was agreed, they did absolutely NOTHING to the frame before they coated it. And when I say nothing, I mean no effort to clean it at all even though he assured me they would clean it and remove any light surface rust (yeah, right.) There is another guy over in Houston who I wished I would have gone to instead. I was lazy and wanted to avoid having to pull a trailer twice to Houston, but in the end I would have been money ahead.
Let's put it this way. . . . I have had the frame coated for over a year now, and since every time I look at it, I get bummed out by the crappy job they did, I can't work on it for more than 30 minutes at a time. So far, I've got suspension on the car and THAT'S ABOUT IT. Oh, and I've had the car for more than a year and a half now.
Contact me off the board, and I'll try to dig up the name of the guy near Houston (actually, in Tomball, TX) who should have done my car.
Good luck,
Brian Kennedy

Quite a few people I know (including myself) have used this place off of Howard Lane:
Commercial Services-S Tx Inc
2008 Avenue N, Austin, TX
(512) 251-7714
Also there is a place in Hutto/ that is supposed to be pretty good/reasonable I don't have the number but here is the name:
Media Blasters in Hutto on McNutt drive.
I talked to the guys at Austin Performance about ceramic coaters and they suggested a place near Canyon Lake. I have their information at work so can get it posted tomorrow.
Good luck,
Richard

Ceramic Coating near Austin
Chris,
I used Protexit near Canyon Lake. They did a great job. The headers and side pipes came out better than I could expect since they were not new. You can contact Rob at 830-237-1181. He is very easy to deal with. The address is 14275 River Road, Canyon Lake, TX 78132. Let me know if you want to see what he did for me.
Looking forward to seeing your car.

Powder Coating
Chris,
I forgot the powder coating part.
The brother of one of my co-workers does it in Georgetown. I haven't used him yet. his name is Tim Miller, 512-835-4400. I have talked to him. He built a Cobra from scratch, no kit. He also has a fabrication and welding shop.

Ok so I had bad information on the guy in Hutto.
Here is the correct link to the Powder Coater in Hutto. Some guys in the local Triumph club have been using this place lately and have been pleased with the price and quality. It might be worth checking out.

Looks like someone supplied the number for the Ceramic Coater at Lake Canyon.
Later,
Richard
