Hey HLC, Can Gus come out to play?
Look what followed me home this weekend. Finally fulfilling and life long dream. This '65 was built in Houston for vintage racing. It's been racing for two years and a new motor (two races) logged. Looks like a lift is in order for the garage.
Thanks Gary Sharapada for all your advice. We're heading to MSR-Cressen today for some seat time. (Thanks to Bruce in Roanoke)
AIN'T LIFE GREAT!!!!!!

hey, WAY COOL, Steve! I'm happy for you!!!!!
Gus wouldn't win with a 5 minute head start.
Gus does catch the eye when i pick 3 kids up from school. He is quite the hit at the Sonic....
not ready for the track.
now Paddy..... hmmmmmm let's talk!
Can't wait to see your new baby in person. Bring it to AER toy run?? I was thinking of bringing Gus, too, if the weather is nice.
Call me about lifts. (you've heard enough anyway, but I can send you my info/email stuff regarding direct lift; Sam just had one installed.)
congratulations, Steve, very glad for you. My first official track day was at MSR. Sept. 04. (I had done the track 'tour' at Hallett in June, but my first track day was MSR. Then in Oct. 04 track day at TMS) then it goes on and on.....
Kristen

VERY COOL!!!!! (i hate you)
So I guess the test drive went well.
We need pics!
Is it street legal? Which race series will you compete in? If there's action on a local track, let us know and we'll crew for ya.
Congrats and can't wait to see this bullet!!!

1) I hate myself sometimes too!
2) Went great.
3) Larry R dropped by and snap some picks at Cresson today. Some forthcoming. (Cresson was a VERY special event. I'll save that for another time)
4) No
5) C.V.A.R.
6) I'll keep ya posted
7) Since I can't afford to fix the Cobra now, maybe I'll trailer it to AER.

Once upon a time a boy who loved the blues almost as much as he loved his first Mustang made a wish and shazam!!!! Yancey, the little boy's favorite person in the whole universe said: "YES, Your wish is granted!" And Steve got his very own GT 350 Vintage Race Car...The rest of the details of this little story have not been written, to be continued.
However, Sunday afternoon, LuvDaBlues did get a chance to shake down his new toy and I had a chance to record some of his adventure.
Here is the toy...
Gettin ready to have safe sex...notice the intensity in his eyes.
Now to turn this baby on
Ferrari? HaHa...No Problem,,,Hoosier racing slicks, 302 screamer under the hood, bring it on
Well I have passed everyone in this race group...and here he is lapping a Miata...Check your fuel level...man he's cranking.
And finally...the last lap, the sound, the fragrance of 110 high octang, the track, the vintage future..."STEVE, your the luckiest guy in Heath.....thanks to a great WIFE!" Jackie says.
I still want to know, What's Yancey getting?
Congrats
Larry & Jackie

Steve, that is AWESOME!!! I can hardly wait to see it in person. When is your next event? Any plans on heading down this way soon??? The SVT Club is having an open event this weekend, November 10 & 11 at MSR Houston.
Wanna come and play with the new toy???
Best of luck, James

I'm thinking you might move the Cobra along now that you've found your REAL toy.
Thought you wanted a cobra but in reality you wanted a racecar! I wouldn't blame you; it's how a lot of people evolve to other things.
If i really wanted to be a race car driver (alright, pretend race car driver) i would get a 'FFR spec racer'. Challenge racer, i think they're now called.
setup for a road course. that's all. straight road course for me!
things change and evolve over time; not saying i'm going to do that, but if i had had a ton of knowledge and knew what i was doing i would probably do that.
couldn't care less about oval, roval, drag, autox. it's all about handling on a road course.
have fun!!!!!

James, I'd LOVE to head down to visit, but I now have to pay for the new toy. Both at work (VERY busy), and at home.
Jackie, I have trees to cut down (major job), and every "honey-do" I've stacked up for the last few years. Yancey already has a trip to Cancun with a few neighbor wives in the spring. And I'm sure much more to come.
Kristen, I think you're correct. It probably is the desire to race. But no plans on releasing the Cobra. The CVAR only races 7 times a year. That will probably be enough. I've gotta cruise on the weekends. Anyway, a couple of weekends of cruising is a hell of a lot less expensive than one weekend of racing.

Very nice Steve. All it needs is to be in my garage for a little shake down over at Hallett . Nice toy.

Triple Wow!
Steve! Perfect car for your stable .. a lean mean track machine Cobra for hauling pretty girls to lunch .. GT350 for tracking
Just had my lift installed Friday .. DirectLift ProPark7, the lightest one, but way strong and heavy .. weighs 2000 lbs. I can give you details and pic on what you have to do to get it in a garage with a 7' door and 10'3" ceiling.
