Kristen:
I did the Children's Hospital toy drive last year. Several met around 7:00am at a diner close to the hospital for breakfast and then proceeded to the circle drive in front of the hospt. Many of the patients with med staff, & volunteers come out and collect the toys in big rolling laundry bins. Their excited little faces makes it all worth the effort.
After the toy drop, several went to Sam Pack's vintage auto collection for a tour. ' don't know what the plan is this year...Gary M. will probably have a plan with SCAT.

I'd be game for the Children's Hospital run too.
One of my new coworkers, William, has the Ivy Green '65 Mustang Fastback you may have seen at AER, among others. He said the kids are great and love looking at the cars.

yup... I did the Children's Hospital toy run with my girls, the Dec. after I got the Mustang. It was a cold day!!!! Had to figure out how to turn on the heater.
The girls loved sitting on the deck. Fun!
You don't go very far; maybe 100 feet or so. Not quite like a parade, but it was nice.
Basically, I see 3 opportunities for the DFW group to get together. I doubt everyone or anyone can make all three, but doesn't hurt to try....
1. First Saturday meet, Dec. 1
2. Second Saturday, Children's Hospital Toy Run, (with the NTMC, or SCAT, or whomever), Dec. 8, 8 am. (parade at 9:30, breakfast @ 8 with NTMC)
3. Third Saturday, AER toy run, Dec. 15, 11-2. Champp's @ 11, then to AER
I have 'obligations' all 3 saturday's, but am always open to juggling things around to the best that I can!

AER is the 15th and so is a special anniversary...It's Susan's 50th birthday and I have to put some sort of surprise together or I'm toast.

I am going to try and do all three, have been out of the loop for a while and really need to get back into the swing of things.
I might have to make the first two runs in the Corvette; KC has got the Lone Star up and running but I was not happy with the stock suspension system. I had Michael and Randy at KC tare it out and with the much needed and appreciated input from Michael and John Ross we are in the process of installing all new high performance shocks and springs.

Circle driveway at Children's is off Medical Center Drive
Stemmons to Motor Street "East"
then a left onto Medical Center Drive (first stop light)
Look for the scene in the background of Kristen's above picture on your right side.

We usually do early lunch (11:00am) at Champs on Beltline (Addison) prior to AER Toy Run?

yes, that's right, Gary.
The 3 AER runs I've done have all happened to fall on the first Saturday, so we just naturally made it part of our 'first saturday' meet.
Didn't know if we'd do something different, since it's on the 3rd Saturday.
Anyway...
where is 'lunch' on the First Saturday, Dec. 1??
Who, if anyone, is interested in the NTMC toy run to Children's??
Who is going to set up Champp's on the 15th??
So much to do! So many activities!! Guess I better get out and 'test run' Pepe.
I know I would like another trip to Sam Pack's, and also another photo op with the P-51 at Cavanaugh......
hint hint......

I'll setup Champs on the 15th. I know there was some discussion about going back to see Sam Pack's car collection at his new museum any interest in doing that after the AER toy run if it's available?

Great, thanks, gary!
I believe the 'newbies' (since '05 or whatever) would enjoy seeing Sam Pack's collection. Remember, we had about 60 'guests' from around the state come see it before... Ed from Austin, and a lot of folks joined in.
I don't think we tacked it on a toy run, AER trip. I could get my scrapbooks out and see.
But... if that's what everybody wants to do, then great!
Lunch @ 11, Champp's
AER @ 1?
Sam Pack @ 2?
What about doing something after the DEC. 1 meet??
Gosh, i don't know my schedule yet! Football is still going on for me. (and that's a good thing!)
off to Abilene for playoff game tonight!! Go Chargers!!!! #3 & #4.

On March 21, 1964 Shelby Cobra car #12, CSX2301 finished the 12 hours of Sebring 5th overall and 2nd in GT 3 Class. One of the drivers was Bob Bondurant, the other driver will be our guest at the AER Toy Drive.
Does anyone know his name??? He was a member of the Shelby American Team and later assumed a role in operations and production with Shelby in California.
See you all Saturday the 1st...Hope everyone had a HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

BINGO! Lew Spencer is correct...I met him at the SAAC in Salt Lake this past summer and found out that he resides in the DFW area. Neat guy with all kinds of behind the scenes knowledge.

I'll check Monday and see if we can get in to see Sam's collection on the 15th or the 1st. It really will depend on when Brian Huth is available..................

We're back at the ranch next weekend, so I'm out the 1st but will be there the 15th.
I'm very interested in Sam Pack's place as well as the Addison airport photo shoot too. Did someone have a contact/hook up with the airport?
