Thumbs up There's a new FE in town....

And it runs.

With the help of many good friends over the last few months, Sunday afternoon the engine started breathing. Thanks to John R & Sammy yesterday, we chased down a couple of fupaws (sp) on my part, and she started right up.

Still have many things to fasten, install and adjust, then off for a dyno-tune. Then start chasing down the oil leaks.

Working toward Austin as my deadline was all in vain. Looks like we're pulling the plug on the trip. Way too much stuff going on the next couple of months; family, work and racing. But we'll be up for the first north Texas cruise. Who's organizing????

Default Congrats Steve!

Gosh, don't them FE's look nice in a Cobra Well, now you've earned your FE installer certification, so henceforth you must drop whatever you are doing and go to the aid of any of the brothers and sisters who cry for help

This Austin whine is not good news .. you must readjust your priorities! JRoss and I will be down shortly to remove your motor if you and Yancy do not relent and make your presence with us at the annual snake roundup And it's "foe paw" you Okie! Cain't you spel French?

Your car has a new nickname: "Sandy" for what she did to the garage floor when the engine kicked over

Good news, and you only have a few weeks for Austin so that means Austin > sleep

Congrats!!
Can't wait to hear it run!
You should still come down to Austin! Amy's not going so we could hang together. Actually, since I found my carb linkage wasn't letting me get to the last 15% of my carb, we could RACE together.
Hope you'll reconsider - you have 50 100 degree days coming to catch up on other stuff, but Austin only comes around once a year!

Default Looks great!!!

Nothing looks as good as an FE in these cars. Not trying to start another small block vs. big block or FE vs. 460 stink.

Question

Actually, the unique FE sound is very cool. But why they sound different from the 383 block (460 ci), I don't know?

Another hmmmmm question. Who thought up the Ford firing order?
1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8
From a balance of power in the block, the Chevy and Mopar make a lot more since.
They are always fire opposite sides or ends.

OK technical guys, what's the story???

Well I sulked enough, so Yancey gave me a free hall pass to Austin by myself. So I'll have to tuck myself in.

I have a dyno-tune scheduled next week at Keith Craft, Plano to give it a once over. This time it better be Rob doing the work. Last time someone else handled my car. Things didn't work out very well.

This thread is getting racier than just that new FE and a dyno appointment.
