First weekend in DFW
OK guys, what's the poop? No car to drive this weekend (again), but we'll drop by while doing errands. AER all day?

Steve,
I’m up for anything but everybody seems to be asleep on this one, AER would be fine. If no one wants to do AER what about meeting up at the Filling Station on the west side of Preston Road just south of the George Bush (great burgers and they love car people) / or Pelicans at Pier 121 on Lake Lewisville (have lunch on the patio overlooking the lake).

Aer
I'm planning on AER for sure. I need to get some things done in the garage, but then am going up there around 10:30. Not planning on winning anything, just want to see the cars and support the event.
And last year I got a killer deal on a floor jack in the auction!

For AER we usually get there at 9-9:30-ish and get the cars positioned, then we walk down the block and eat at IHOP on Beltline.

Steve:
Clean up your F-150 and enter it. Who knows, you may win "Best in Truck Class" and be eligible to win an AER engine...God (and Yancy) knows, you can always use another one .
This is one of the best shows of the year, with great prizes, trophies, cars, people, and sponsor/cause.
Or, bring old No. 08 , and we'll all help you prep her for your up-coming race.
Capitalize on all the talent that'll be there. You might even win the Blue Oval Award!!!
See you Saturday.

well.... used to be that I would be at AER at 7:30, park under the cover, then we'd walk to IHOP and eat about 8:15 or so.
With the crowd always evolving, looks like later is what ya'll are doing. sounds good!
hope everybody has fun and take a lot of sunscreen.
I'll try to swing by and give support, but don't look for me.
off shopping for bridesmaids dresses.
(ps. i always wondered what the hurry was to be there at 7:30... guess Gary Morris was an early bird and i just went along with it. If i was entering this year it'd definitely be later!!! haven't entered in a couple years. too competitve for track happy Pepe.)
oh well!
cya!

It is just my Humble Opinion, but I have decided that getting there early does not help the odds of one winning anything, and in fact might even hinder.
I had my car 'under' the covered area, and the cars that parallel parked IN FRONT, like a "T" or perpendicular to the 10 or so that fit under the cover actually looked better. Shinier in the sun, brighter, more visible, less hidden than the ones underneath.
If i were doing it again.... i'd arrive about 10 or later, (about an hour before registration closed) and would take a nice parallel place in front of the cobras. Spend the extra time at home polishing!!!
but... if ya'll wanna get there at 8 go right ahead!
i think my bridesmaids dress should be hot pink.....

I was going to get there at the crack of 8:00, but the car is an absolute mess and needs a real cleaning. Again, I've got gorilla tape on the front end for God's sake so I'm not winning anything, but I still want it to look good.
Kristen, I'm a size 12.

Larry,
#08 is on the lift w/o valve covers (powder coating), no oil pan (new one arrives today due to farming at Hallett), no brake fluid (DOT 4 installed Sunday), new Goodyear's and Hoosiers mounting today (Discount Tires love me), in need of valves adjustments, and installing new spark plugs Sunday. All in preparation for the 16th at Eagles Canyon.
Are you still crew chief for this event? I have your "T"-shirt ready.
Yancey & I and running by Cottonwood Arts Festival first, then swing by AER. I have to return some tools to Sam. Make sure everyone enters in different classes. We'll STUFF the ballot boxes for the Cobra Brethren.

Steve,
Mine is in worse dis-array. Engine still out, tranny needs a once over, and I am in the middle of painting the thing (got the base coat on last night). I just hope I have something to drive for Hallett. I wonder if I can put those slicks on my F-250?

Ya wanna compare war stories?
Clois,
If you haven't heard, my Cobra's "new" aluminum 427 is out of state. Something went horribly wrong. Not only the #1 bearing was failing, a bearing on the cam was on the fritz. My wifes new motto for me, "live and not learn".

I'll be there at 8:00, since I can't park out in the sun or otherwise. I guess I will settle for breakfast. Looking forward to seeing you all.

Fred,
That's where we met you. AER 2002. We parked behind you - in the sun. Sure made your beautiful car stand out even more. I had a tough time deciding to vote for you or vote for us.
