Thumbs up 4th of July Parade, 2008

I know it's over a month away, but the City of Heath, Texas is inviting us to participate in the parade again this year. Last year we provided transportation for 4 soldiers returning from deployment in our very small (2 Mile) home town parade. We only scheduled 3 cars, but 5-6 servicemen & women showed up in full uniform. If you're interested, please respond and mark on your calender. We'll organize later.

Kristen with HER Marine from last years parade.

OK, just bringing this back to the top.

I'm on vacation next week, June 21st - 27th, so I need to start organizing for Friday July 4th.

Mrs. Savage has informed me of 6 servicemen attending the parade. 2 Airman, 2 Marines and 2 Soldiers. I'll even supply BBQ and beer afterward.

Anyone..........?

I'm sorry, Steve. I am not able to do this very worthy and satisfying activity.

The boys are leaving for Scout camp @ Philmont Ranch in New Mexico on th 3rd, so David and I are taking the girls to Colorado at the same time.
If i were home i would most definitely participate. But i think you know that.

Check with Miles this time??

Speaking of last years parade... I would REALLY like to get 'my marine' to sign my scrapbook from last year. I am going to bet he isn't home this year.
anyway, if you could sometime email me the contact person's name, that would be cool.
thanks, and again, sorry i can't participate this year. Maybe next year!!
Kristen

Our plans are still up in the air about when we're heading to the ranch.
If I'm in town, Annie and I will be there.
I'll update in a couple of days.

I've got you down Sam.

Come on folks, I'll even throw in the rest of the "08" T-shirts. Even if they don't fit. (I owe you one anyway Sam)

BTW, the weather here in Milan feels like Houston. Today we go to Lake Como!!! I'll send pictures.

I just received this email from one of the servicemen's parents.
__________________________________________________ ___________-

Steve,

I believe your Cobra car club added to the honor for our
troops last year. I hope it can happen again this year.

I know Chris talked with you about how many
cars we would like to have this year.

We have had even more come forward to participate
this year. I know Chris mentioned we needed six cars,
but got the impression that might be a stretch.

If that is going to be a problem please let me know.
If we have to decide who rides and who walks, well our
core group will get priority.

Also I will get the name information for the signs as
soon as I know how many cars we have.

Example of format: (this will be for our son)
Cpl Casey Savage
U.S.M.C.
Back from Japan

If you would like to add the branch seal somewhere,
(maybe both sides of branch name)
I have jpeg formats of each branch I can email you.
Let me know

Thanks again for partnering with us to honor our troops,
past, present and future.

Chad Savage

Steve:

Send a request to Gary Morris for help from SCAT. I'll bet that they would be glad to participate. You could also decorate your truck with bunting and have Yancey escort them. ' just trying to help.

Alright, my social scheduler says it's okay,
so I'M IN!
So, do I need to make a sign?
Send me some details, Steve. I'll put a fresh layer of tape on the front.

Larry, good idea on the SCAT call. Also NTMC has some nice convertible Mustangs.

Default That's 3

Thanks Sam & Miles. You'll enjoy this parade. A true small town event, and servicemen that are very excited. Anybody else???

Miles, do you know the guys who you're talking about? Can you contact them? I'm out of pocket until next week. This guy here has me captive with his sling shot:

Living large in Florence, Italy on somebody elses bill.

Isn't that a picture of the statue in the "Bonfire of the Vanities" square?

Glyn,

Is that British humor?

That's actually the fake "David" in the Piazza Della Signoria, Florence, hense the masonry wall in the background. The real "David" has been shipped inside the Gallery of the Accademia.
