Intro to Road Racing @ TMS Sept 6, 2008
Guys and Ladies, if you haven't done the Intro to Road Racing at Texas Motor Speedway here's your chance. You will spend an unforgettable day learning road racing techniques at one of the premier motor sports facilities in the nation! The morning starts with performance secrets that you can apply to your Cobra immediately to make your car perform better. You will work in our cars for 3 hours doing high performance exercises to learn advanced car control which you will use on the track. We provide lunch and a Vehicle Dynamics talk to explain the physics and mindset for going fast on the track. Then you are ready for your first 30 minutes of track time, it will be lead and chase so everyone can learn the track and the racing line. We will be using the 7 turn One Mile ALMS Infield Road Course, very safe but also challenging. After a debrief we head back to the track for your second 30 minute session on the Infield Road Course. Passing will be allowed so you can really see how you and your car performs. The instructors that will be coaching you all day own Cobra's, Corvette's, Porsche's, Viper's, Mustang's, Ferrari's and Lamborghini's. All driving suits and helmets will be provided for your use. If you need driving shoes, fluids, low tack tape (for leading edges of your beauty) we have it at the track. All we need is you to work hard and listen, there will be a test at the end of the day. (Your on track performance)
Intro to Road Racing Price $575
BTW the Intro to Road Racing qualifies you to attend the Roval @ Texas Motor Speedway which is coming on September 12, 2008. The Roval is a 2.5 mile track which is a combination of the 1.5 mile high banked oval at Texas Motor Speedway and the one mile Infield Road Course. Pull up your belts tight and hope to see you at the track.
Need more info; call Don or Jim at Texas Driving Experience 817.430.4343
Thx, db

Get ready for Run & Gun
Yes Larry, I will going to Run & Gun and try to teach some racing/driving techniques to my R&G friends. But here's something that I see happening way to much. The drivers that are rushing around to finish a car or repair something that's broken, become very distracted. They are working on their cars to the last minute, then they stress over getting to the event and don't take time to prep themselves for the track experience. The mindset of GET TO THE TRACK, ONLY HAVE A FEW DAYS, MUST GO FASTER THAN SPEED OF LIGHT, ETC, ETC, ETC, is what causes the problems, mechanical or others. If I could get the drivers to have a plan before they decide to go to R&G of what they want to accomplish at R&G, then I think there would be a lot less moments. The objective should be to have fun and learn how to go faster and safer and not destroy your stuff. All the prep, organization, and planning that goes into club racing or pro racing needs to be used for your best experience. MAKE A PLAN AND WORK YOUR PLAN and your R&G experience will be the best ever. See you at a track , db

Prior proper planning positively prevent p!ss poor performance. A plan should include an objective(s) that is definable by being specific, measurable, achieveable, relevant, and with time frames for completion...SMART!
It is difficult to try and state "SMART" objectives.
One of my objectives for Run'NGun is to, Have Fun by clocking a 1:14 lap by incorporating prepared equipment, driver mind and body, executing tracking car control, and follow all of the rules during the event.
I look forward to hearing and following your words of experience and wisdom. I remember that you said, "When things feel like they are happening too fast...you are not looking far enough ahead, so that your reactions can compensate" for the speed.
See you soon.

A Fine Time!
My compliments to Don, Dawn, Jim and the TDE team! An absolutely professional, first class operation! The Intro to Road Racing Course is exactly what I needed to prepare for RnG and other future track days. It was also a big thrill to see TMS from the inside .. me not being a NASCAR Nation member Amazing place ... and the TDE condo, with a high rise view of the whole place .. wow! Yes, go do this when you have the opportunity. I absolutely wrung the C6 out and learned a lot about it!

Sammy...You are right on target. db, Dawn, Jim W. and all the rest of the TDE Crew are the absolute best to prepare one for open track readiness.
Don't get sucked in by Wild Bill"s bull $hit! He's from Kansas City and he is a pro, a hell of a driver, probably going to be Run'nGun's "Top Gun"
However I know his weakness...Jackie's chocolate chip cookies!!! We are making a special batch for WB.
Remember, you can pass on three straight-a-ways...If WB is weaving after his consumption of cookies...give him plenty of room as you blast past.
You were lookin' real racy today...I'll post some pictures later. However, I may get put on probation for posting pics of a Vet on this site.
