Austin 2009
Who is running the ship and planning all the adventures for the Texas Club Cobra Austin 2009? I know there was a lot of discussion after the event about the location, did anything get changed or maybe I missed that thread. Just wanted to have enough bail money on hand to get everyone out of jail if we go back to Round Rock. LOL, db

Don,
Don't worry we are well on our way working some of those issues that came up last year. SInce I wasn't there I can't speak on those issues. But yes we are looking at perhaps moving the event to the San Marcos Embassy Suites and Convention Center. It is brand new hotel that will open in a few weeks. Dee has contacted them about possibly hosting our event and they seemed interested.
I am sure MIke will put together another fabulous cruise route no matter the start point.

Austin 09
The reason I ask, I have had an idea for several years that I would like to present to someone, but really never understood who or what group is in charge of the event and can make a decision. Our Texas Cobra Club is a very loose organization which is fine I think for most people. But with a little more thought about the event, I think the Texas Cobra Club could do a lot of good for people less fortunate than we are. If anyone in charge is interested, give me a call and we can discuss. Thx. db

That ws always the beauty of the TCC Spring Meet.....very loose....no stress.....nothing to do or think about other than visiting with our friends and having a good time. No schedules or responsibilities for a whole weekend. I would really hate to see that change for this event.

No Worries Gary
Gary, Don't worry nothing has changed, and I am not trying to change your "very loose....no stress.....nothing to do or think about event". All I have done is talk to Dee about a couple of ideas that wouldn't effect anyone with the Texas Cobra Club, unless the individual wanted to be involved and can see some benefit. It wouldn't cost you a dime, wouldn't require any effort on your part and in fact if no one wants to be involved that fine also.
But, I think we should occasionally think about other people than ourselves, and if I (and I did not say we ) can do something by taking a resource that is not being utilized and apply a little of my effort to help someone, that's the right thing for me to do. db

I am so stoked for Texas Club Cobra Austin 2009...
Dear All,
I am so stoked for my first Austin Meet; I can hardly wait until March.
Hoping for great weather... you never know in Texas... but I am committed.
What should I bring?
PS I am looking forward to showing off one of two proposed new designs for Hurricane's headers.
Toodles... until next time.

Things are moving
All,
I know many of you are awaiting to make your hotel reservations. We are in the final talks with the hotel and once we get the contract signed we will publish the link for the hotel and the group name. Dee is expected to have the hotel finalzed this week.
The Austin Club had a very long planning meeting last Saturday and things are realling falling into place. I do not want to speak out of turn, but I think we are in for a nice treat.
Just keep your eye on Club Cobra for the hotel information.

Austin '09
Don> Bring Lawyers, Guns and Money, it won't matter where we are.
If the Austin group is planning it, no doubt, it'll be a great event. The Houston group is having their monthly meeting this Saturday and we'll be discussing our plans for this year. No weddings on the books however Diane and I look forward to anniversary parties up in the Hill Country for many years to come.
We'll be sending an invite to the Operation Comfort oganization asking them to join us. If they're unable we may want to plan a day trip/cruise to either BAMC or the ranch to hang out with and visit the soldiers.
We look forward to seeing everyone in March.

Since I don't have a trailer (or something to pull one with in Texas) I'll
be driving the Cobra but will bring the car cover + a tarp to bungy over the
cover if it looks necessary and will pray for good weather for the drive.

I have drove mine down from Dallas the last two years and have been lucky with no rain. It did rain a little last year in Austin but I had a car cover, but no rain on the drive down or back. Looking forward to meeting you.

Richard - that sounds good to me - thanks. (No worries - I know past
occurrences have no bearing on what will happen in actuality but - knowing
it was good before gives me hope that it will repeat.)
