You do not need to be a Mustang Club member.

Is this just a re-body on the existing chassis? Or a completely re-engineered car? Maybe more "keeping up with the Jone's" (i.e. to counter the '10 Camaro debut)?

Does it still weigh 4000 frickin' pounds!?!?
I will not look at another Mustang until it loses some weight. I drove a new GT500 and thought it handled like a truck.
-But then again, if the new Camaro and Challenger weigh about the same, I guess Ford figures - why bother with expensive weight saving ideas?

There might not be any "Joneses" left to keep up with in 2010.

Well, we know that all the tooling is now in place and GM has the ability to at least stamp out frames and bodies. Hey! Maybe the new Camaro can be offered as a "kit" instead of turn-key roller! That way I can register it through SB100 and install some big, hairy BB 8-71 huffed monster motor and call it "smog legal."
Back on topic...maybe that new Mustang rebody may inherit the same fate.

Here's a couple of shots from the L.A. Auto Show. In person, it looks less chunky/bloated than the current model. Styling is more evocative of the early 70s stangs. I don't think it lost any weight... it just looks like it did.
