Default It's getting windy out there!

Tornado warning for February?? I can hear the wind starting to howl.
Major hail predicted, too.
I tried an experiment.... didn't work.

Lifted the mustang as high on the lift as it could go, and still barely sqeak the garage door by with 1/4" spare. HOPING to slide the 500 under the lift, so the newish Toyota could have the 500's slot.
Darn. Need about 2 more inches, and not sure my heart would let me drive under the lift even then. rats!
have driven the toyota 'round back to park under the porte cochere, protecting from the hail.
too bad for the truck... suburban.... old toyota.....

I hate winter!

Default Rowlett Report

We had some straight line winds just as it started to rain.

About five minutes in, the sirens started up. The girls headed for the safe room as I peered out the north and west windows.

Happy to report no hail and no damage found. Will check for shingles tomorrow. Yeah, just early February... so much for March coming in like a lion.

Our friends in Southern and Central Oklahoma had some serious damage from a tornado (8 killed) and the Oklahoma City area got pelted with some baseball size hail and another tornado. No lives lost just plenty of damage to roofs and automobiles.

Here in Tulsa (Eastern OK) we just had some thunder and lightening and plenty of rain. Lost our satelite for about 5 minutes last night but that was about it.

Thank you Rick Lake for the call last night to see how we were doing. I appreciate the concern for my family's well being. All is well in T-Town and hopefully most of the sand that had been put down on our streets a few weeks ago has been washed away by the rain. I told Rick I kind of liked these spring storms (not tornado's) with the lightening and thunder and he thought I was nuts. This mornings drive into work was a bit of a challenge with the heavy rain but this afternoon should be clear blue skies and near 60.

Clois

only minor damage for me. Our dog run chain link fence got folded over. Looks like I only have to replace or 2 poles. Lot of lightening and thunder, but nothing too bad.

HLC:

You should test to see if you can let some air out of the 500's tires for the extra space you need. Just a thought, or you could lower the 500 so it doesn't look like an "off road vehicle" as Gary S. referred to it at Lefty's.

We just had very heavy rain and some small hail. It was pea sized at best and did not damage.

The wind tore off some shingles of some of the track houses. Peeled the shingles off the whole roof.

No hail for me. That was good. I had to leave the truck out as the garage is cluttered with crap right now. Since Trina's surgery, it has been hard keeping up with everything when taking care of 2 people and working as well. I do not envy those who do this on a continuing basis. Much respect. It is killing me. Going to start getting the house back in order today so the next storm I can park both vehicles inside and not have to worry about hail damage to the cars.

I was porting a set of heads when I took a break. Heard the Plano sirens floating on the wind, and knew that could only mean one thing: DRAMA in the house! Yep, the kids were out of bed and completely undone by the violence of it all. Damage? None external...several little upset souls inside.

Everyone stay safe. Thank you all for having tons of mobile home parks in your area, because we all know that they attract tornadoes.

Ms K - in a pinch, just deflate the tires. That will get you some extra room. I assume you do have an air compressor in the garage.

Default Damage found in the morning...

Missed this in the dark. The kis' trampoline was upheaved and tossed onto storage shed. Both are totalled... thankfully the fence and pool equipment were spared.
