Default and I thought we had problems with gov. regs.

http://saacforum.com/index.php?topic...cseen#msg62151

".....Hi All,
I have a question and a request.
I have a 65 Mustang which I bought 6 years ago in Miami, and I export the car to Israel.
The car is in perfect condition, running new 302 ford racing engine, AOD transmission and other goods stuff.
My problem is with my size tires. I bought the car with tires size of 195\70\14. This is quite ridicules since it is very small tire. For better handling, and better safety (stopping the car when using the brakes) I would like to change the size of the tires to 215\60\14.
But in Israel the bureaucracy and the paper work is terrible. In order to change the tires size I most go to the DMV department and show them that back in the sixty the manufacture (FORD) use bigger tires.
I checked with FORD and back then they use 185\75\14, which in today knowledge it’s a big danger.
So I thought Shelby probably use bigger tires in his GT350 back in the 1965. (He also was dealer of GOODYEAR) and I wondering if someone here have a brochure for the GT350 with the tech spec.
Without that help I’m really in a serious big problem.
Really hope to hear from you guys
Thanks, Meir
Israel, Tel Aviv ......"

So who enforces this? Are there tire police that run around and check tires of cars parked on the street?

sounds like a nightmare from any side. You would think the Israeli government would have better things to worry about than this.

I'd have him talk to Branda or one of those guys. They'd want to sell him something so bad they'd poop the info!

The regulation is probably with the tire retailer - he probably can't sell/install a tire other than the OEM size. Anyway, what a pin in the butt...
