Goodyear Eagle SS 15" DOT Drag Radials
SunDude's 15" tire thread got me searching around the net and I came across these at Summit. They aren't what SunDude is looking for, so I decided to start a different thread instead of hijacking his.
Goodyear Eagle SS DOT Drag Radial Tires - SummitRacing.com
Anyone ever try them on the street? They're available in Cobra sizes - probably not good at all in the wet - could they function as a dry street tire with occasional strip and fast road duty?

Buzz. My concern is if the tire is a "drag" tire how will it work for road racing.

Good question. Are the side walls different in road racing tires ?
I assume the compound is also.

Yes it does have different sidewalls than a road tire,(but still fine for road driving) the problem with these is the sizes, there is no 295/15 for the rears, i dont think the skinny tire in back looks right, i have used them on the strip in a mustang and i still prefer micky drag radials

Thanks guys - I figured with the DOT rating they would have to meet some sort of roadworthiness/safety/handling standards to qualify and I was curious to see if anyone had tried them out.

I agree. We're also running out of options for the 15" series, especially the 295/15. I don't believe we can get the tires I'm currently using, Good Year Eagle II. I have a set of the Billboards I haven't mounted yet. I may get the M/T drags for the rear if I don't like the Billboards.
