Which tyres and wheels size?

Hello!

I'm looking for Halibrand replica (15", not more), but I don't know how wide they have to be.

I've currently 14" wheels, with 225/60/14 at front, and 245/60/14 at rear, BF Goodrich Radial T/A on it.

I think we should buy the same tyres in 15", like 245/60/15 front, and 295/60/15 rear.. Is this a "common" size for the tyres and wheels?

Do you know a good retailer in Europe?

My ERA has typical 295/50/15 and 245/60/15.

There are a limited number of tires in those sizes.

Team III has AC III wheels in many size back spacing. Factory 5 has the same wheels for less but they only come in Front Wheel Size (Diameter x width): 15"x 8"
Rear Wheel Size (Diameter x width): 15"x 9"
Front Wheel Backspace: 5"
Rear Wheel Backspace: 5.48"
I got lucky and they fit my car perfect 295/50/15---235/60/15

Image Wheels Ltd has got 15" and 17" halibrands.
original size tires 235/60r15 & 295/50r15 hard to find.
i suggest to use 17" wheels.
i've used 225/50r17 & 245/45r17 on my fist three scratch builts.
i'll get "boyd coddington smoothie ii" 17x9.5 & 17x8 wheels, 275/40r17 & 245/45r17 tires for #4.
standart outside diameter of tire on cobra is 26" 660mm

peace and good luck,
Ozgur

Thanks for the answers!

There is no way we put 17" wheels on the car. I prefer pay twice the price for the same tire in 15" than 17", but I really don't like Cobra's with 17" wheels. The only one I love is a grey Cobra with white lanes, and 17" Halibrand. It's for sale on pistonheads, for about 80-90000$.

You might want to check out my post about 15-inch tires for my SPF Cobra.

Typical sizes are 255/60R15 (front) and 275/60R15 or 295/50R15 (rear).

I've already seen your post, but the big problem is that I live in Europe, and there is less shops that sell that type of tires...

I only know Cheap Tyres Discount Tyres Buy Tyres Online & Japanese Import Car Parts Spares Tuning Performance Servicing Accessories , nearest and cheapest shop I know in Europe... But they don't have the size I want. :/

I'll try to find a UK Forum, but I'll stay here, there are so many informations on this forum! I will need weeks to read everything.

The Avons were available the UK, Spain and Germany the last time I checked. Excellent. Some of the tires you see discussed are really not designed for speed. If you jink down to the Ring take good rubber.

Do you have links of these webstores?

Ozgur_Tan 12-05-2011 07:53 AM

dax has got 18" wheels :)
we've got some custom clearance problems for US made wheels, that why i've used 17"
those problems are gone, starting from #5 i'll use 15" wheels.

No. I located them by looking for AVON dealers. I would contact AVON

Avon Tyres

We are using the CR6ZZ. Quite happy with them.

It might be best to ring them as the web site has a 50km search parameter.

Salut Uxcool,

Oops, the official language here is English ? :3DSMILE: Sorry ! Herunder the translation :p :

On my SPF I've put some AVON CR 6ZZ tires in 245/60R15 et 295/50R15. Super grip which improve greatly the handling (very soft rubber, so will probably worn quickly)
In France you can order it online by Andrey pneus competition - Spécialiste pneus racing compétition
Shipping cost from Lyon to Paris was 45€ for a 2 days delivery. (You have to know that these tires are quite expensive : 1400€ for a set of 4 ).
This company wil certainly ship from Lyon to Belgium, for a little more...

A+

Bob
