Billboards - Yellow Paint?

Has anyone gone with Yellow, versus painting the letters White?

Ranger offers Yellow, Red, Green, Blue and, of course White which is also needed as the base color when any of the other colors are used.

Here's an example...

Quite the Photoshopped pic, but those tires look like the Cup/Nascar radials variety. For some reason GY makes the letters almost perfect on them right from the molds, and in yellow. If they offered those same tires in white letters, I'm pretty certain that many would flock to them for cobras as tghe sizes are close to the traditional Billboards.

I recall one person (named Bill?) that did the yellow letter thing to his FFR and posted pictures. But I have no references to share.

I suspect this is a computer generated image, sort of like they do with computer animation in the movies.

Look through the front wheel slots. If that was real, you would not be able to see the stairs or brick wall.

Wow..good catch! I think you can see the brick refection in the spoke holes of the rear wheels also. They should be black like the front.

Here's a link to the entire series of shots - they are for a GT5 game - I still don't understand if it's a real Cobra with a fake (created) background or if the entire 'picture' is drawn by computer or hand - in either case the Cobra part is awesome - the background not so much.

Anyway - my interest is in the yellow lettering - looks cool to me.

You miss the really obvious - it is not real - no one is looking in the direction of the car!

Is that a polished aluminum body? It looks so grey but still shinny in those pics. Cool affect.

Actually, I'm now wondering if the pictures are of real cars or are the pictures really drawings of real cars. I'm checking that out now - but, the fact remains that the yellow lettering seems awesome and really unusual on a Cobra.

As for the body - it sure looks like polished aluminum - perhaps the grey is part of 'painting' assuming that it's a painting, not a picture of a real Cobra.

Whatever it is - awesome look.

How has the paint stood up?

What size are your fronts they seem to have a big bulge?

The yellow is holding up surprisingly well. I did put another coat on, but that's easy once the first coat is done.

The fronts are 26.5 X 8.0 - 15.

Yellow paint is on slicks, is much better with no touch-up needed.

I'm so sorry to post something so choppy, what I meant to say was why doesn't GoodYear make the white tires as nice as the yellow on the slicks? I was working in the garage changing wheels and tires around, so I hastily posted.

As you can see in the picture Avon are just black sidewalls, they look kinda plain to me.
While the yellow on the slicks needs no touch up, they look great. I also redid my white on the GoodYears with Ranger paint.

At least my trailer is self propelled, haha.

That makes sense, thanks. Some folks here love the "treatment" that is applied by Goodyear on the billboards coming out of the factory - looks like a stencil is used - a little off with paint applied quickly just to end up with a while lettering look a high speed, I suppose. Anyway, it doesn't work for me - so I went with white and now yellow with a cleaner look. I'm also amazed that Goodyear can't replicate the yellow lettering slick 'quality' on billboards. They are both not for street use. Goodyear has been contacted - they don't care.

By the way, those pictures show lots of great stuff.

FYI-Goodyear white letter indicate bias tires -yellow indicate radials
