Avon Size Question...Pics?

I am in the group buy for the Avons, but there was a slight glitch. I saw the post that said ERA cars cannot accomodate a 245 in the front without rubbing.

I called ERA today and they confirmed it. I currently have 235-60s on my car. ERA said that I needed to order the 225s. I asked...the 60's or the 65's? They were looking at a car on their floor with 225/65s in front with 295s in back, and they said it looked "great!"

I have 295s on the back as well. My concern is whether or not they are going to look too 'offset' if I may use that word. I thought the 295 in back paired with a 245 in front would look beefy.

I am leaning toward the 225/60-R15s, and I was wondering if anyone had personal experience or any pictures of that set-up.

Thank you.

Avon doesn't make a 235 tire?
I wonder what the true overall size of the tires is. Sometimes the real world size is different than what's printed on the side of the tire. Might be something to look at.
Compare the two in real life.

No pix because the car isn't built yet. But I went with:

Front = 225/65-15
Rear = 295/50-15

This is what Peter at ERA recommended. I will have a 427 btw.

^^Thanks Lippy...Peter recommended them to me as well. He has a great eye, and I trust him. I was just hoping to see them mounted. At least I saw them stacked in your picture, which helped.

I am glad you are putting a 427 in :MECOOL:

It's a 289 car but here you go, I wouldn't use anything but the AVONS:

Car looks great CC...beautiful. The 289 cars are still my favorite...HUGE 289 engine fan.

Does anyone have a picture of 225s up front and 295s in the rear?

Thank you.

See the Tire Page. The 225/65 size is preferred.

Wow, did not think to look there...obviously. Thank you for the heads up. Since the Avons are sized differently, it looks like 225/65-15 it is!

i have an era 289 fia with 225/65/15s. they are the right size. you really dont want to worry about tire rubbing. they look great. 245s are too wide for the front for street driving anyway.

That's great to hear! Thanks for giving me more confidence in my decision. I really appreciate your input.
