Tires !!?? help too!
Hey guys ...needing some input on tire choices...I have a Unique 289 FIA that I bought several years ago...It was (is) the BFG Poster car-remember that one?...anyway, when I got it, it had GY Billboards on it as it was mostly a track car-for me it is mostly a spirited street car and CA Highway car...never been happy with the BBs but I'm going to keep them...for ship anchors or something...they followed every single groove in the road and made for some harrowing experiences...so I'm ready to move on and have no love affair with any tires other than the Pirelli's for the Porsche...open to all input...the current sizes are great for this car but these tires are old and I don't quite know how they translate to modern tires...tire sizes are as listed
f-26.5x 8(!)-15 and r-26.5 x 10-15...these are non DOT-Made for racing only tires- built in Chile(!)...Looking at AVON, M/T,BFG (that would be cool to have them to match the poster...but)...they have to have Raised White Letters as I am a sucker for that (still 16 years old?)...money will not be the biggest issue...handeling and ride comfort and RWL are main...so give me your thoughts...In CA...thanks and enjoy tearing it up this summer! Why don't you put Avons on it and then give them the stencil treatment.

After reading a bunch of posts, it seems like the Avons are hard to beat for overall performance and a vintage look.
The Sportsman STs probably have the look you want and are reasonably priced. The Sportsman SRs have gotten some good reviews, but the tread pattern is different.
Another fun option that would be less expensive would be MT ET drag slicks. It's hard to tell, but I think they have white letters.

Most reviews on the BFGs are that they are rock hard and unforgiving.

They don't list any 15" tires.
