A trick I use (along with a liberal application of anti-seize) is to put them on choked up on the hammer, and take them off using the whole bat...and of course everything is backwards on the wife’s side...

Use a lead hammer (5 lb) that is in good condition. The lead hammer will not harm the wheels or the spinner.
