Compomotive HB17 Wheel Center
Recently damaged a Compomotive HB17 wheel and upon close inspection discovered that the center has a small crack. This a modular wheel so the good news is that the center can be replaced. The bad news is that I contacted Compomotive in England and was informed that they may have spare parts but are in the process of reorganization and nothing is available until the end of the year so I'm looking for another source.
The wheel is a Ford 5X4.5 bolt patern and the center is Compomotive part number HB701. If you happen to have a Compomotive 17 inch wheel the part number is easy to identify as it is cast into the back side of the wheel center.
A wheel center or if necessary entire wheel will work for me.

Still looking for 17 inch Compomotive HB wheel or HB701 wheel center. Anybody that has one that they would like to sell or has a lead on where I can access one I would greatly appreciate your help.

So we can assume their reorganization that was to be completed by the end of the year is still in a state of flux?

Stephen427 thanks for the link. Those are some great looking wheels and I will definitely consider them if I can't locate a Compomotive replacement. The last communication I received from a gentleman named Barry Dixon with Compomotive. He stated that after reorganization that they would no be producing the HB wheel or any other 3 piece wheel. He also stated that me that no spare HB parts were available.

TexasSnake,
Just on the off-chance there may be one available in England, you may want to put a post on this web site: UK Cobra Club - The Front Page
No guarantees

Thanks I will definitely follow up on the UK site. I really like the Compomotive HB wheel but finding a replacement has proved impossible to date. I may be forced to sell the three remaining wheels and install a different wheel on the car. I do know that if I was a Cobra owner and Had Compomotive HB wheels on my car I would consider purchasing a spare or two if I found them for sale.

Still no luck locating a 17 inch Compomotive wheel or wheel center. I have tried every source that I'm aware of to locate a spare wheel or wheel parts without success. I have exhausted all of the North American sources that I'm aware of and last week again attempted to contact the reorganized company in England. I know that they are no longer producing the modular HB wheel but I was hoping that they may have some spare parts. I have no idea what they can do to assist or not because can't even get them to respond to a email inquiry. Unless somebody has a spare that they would like to make available it appears that I will be selling three really nice 17 inch Compomotive HB wheels in the next couple of months.

I have a 16" compomotive with a cracked center. Anybody have one of those? Any reason they cannot be welded by a wheel shop?

welding of center , no no
Do not weld on the center disc of the wheel, it will severely affect the strength. If the center is cracked it is either from an impact or fatigue, both are reason to retire the wheel. Safety should be our main priority!

I have a spare set of 16 inch Compomotive HB wheels that may provide a solution for t.walgamuth. They are 5x4.5 bolt pattern.

Unfortunately my bolts are five on 5";(
Thanks very much for offering!
Anybody have some compomotive lug nuts for sale? The lugs for my 17" rims have a bigger barrel and bigger head and won't fit my 16" rims. ...or a source?
Please send me a pm as I seldom look at this section of the forum.

The only lug nuts I could find to fit my 15" wheels were made by Gorilla. If you go on Summit Racing's web site, you can search by size.
