My 2014 Focus has 37,000 on it. The 17" came from the factory. I did replace the tires and rims on my 06 Mustang but I kept the same size.

Just messing with you Scott.
I never buy rims for my daily drivers. The only time was the Mustang.

Heck, my son got 48k out of the tires on his 2012 Focus. Curious to see what my two girls get on theirs. They each just got a 2015 Focus. One Titanium and one Sport!!

No prob. I get a kick out of all the Escalades out there riding on nothing but Chrome Wheels!! Can't beat the ride of lots of rubber with limited air!!

Hey Scott, are you watering that lawn!

scootter 02-03-2016 05:47 PM

Yep! I have a 300 gallon tank I put into the back of my truck and fill up at work with recycled water. I have a small electric pump at the house I hook to my rain bird!!
I have the greenest lawn on the court.:D
My lawn is really green now since I fertilized it in between all the rain storms. I have had all my water off and have not brought water home since the first rain storms hit. So it really pisses me off when I've been walking my dog lately and I will see people with their water on the same day it has rained. I've also seen some that have the f!!kin sprinklers on in the rain. I don't get it!!

I also thought of this while posting about my passion for 15" fat boys.:JEKYLHYDE

That said, I'm curious about brakes on the Cobra? Have you folks needed to upgrade?
I'd think front brakes would not be an issue while well vented - the car is light, and rear could (maybe) be a problem on hot track days but mine don't care about the rim size as these are inboard and will always suck anyway

What is the widest 15" tire any of you would mount on a 9.5" wide wheel?

That depends on the tire. Tire specifications include "recommended rim width" on for each specific size, and I would stay within those recommendations. Easy to find, easy to read.

For example, the chart for Avon CR6ZZ shows 295/50R15 have a "Rim Choice" of 8.5" - 10.5", so 9.5" is right in the middle. CR6ZZ | Avon Motorsport

The Hoosier Drag Radial in P325/50R15 has a "Rim Width Range" of 9" - 11": https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...omCompare1=yes

OTOH, the Pirelli P Zero System in 345/35ZR15 has a minimum rim width of 11.5" - it's only 20mm wider than the Hoosier Drag Radial, but it has much shorter sidewalls due to the 35 aspect ratio. https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...omCompare1=yes

Thanks for the info Brian. I have 275's and was thinking of something a bit wider, perhaps 295's next time I buy tires.
