Default No more fake Halibrands for me....

My "street car" vibe took another big step today - I got my fake Sunburst wheels all mounted up on my Fake Cobra.

I'm in love....

As soon as this car has enough rock chips to need a paint job, I'm losing the hood scoop and the chin scoop...

I agree, looks great.
Keep the oil cooler scoop, but yes remove the hood scoop
I would not be waiting on rock chips to remove the hood scoop, just do it
Maybe add the front and rear hoops.
Very nice, love the sunburst wheels!

Awesome car!
Thanks guys for the compliments..

Mine were actually made by Rocket Racing Wheels - :

Rocket Racing Wheels | Rocket Sunburst Hypershot | Free Shipping From Selected Rocket Dealers!

For reference- I ordered the 15x8's with -19mm offset, which means my backspacing is 3.75 inch, with 4.25 inch frontspacing. The tires in the photos above are the "typical" 295/50 rears, and 235/60 fronts that most guys are running these days.

Note: These are not pin drive wheels - They are actually 5 lug (the lug nuts are black anodized, and hidden inside the little triangle shaped slots in the center turbine section. They require special splined lug nuts, which you have to order separately. You also have to order the special lug nut tool, and the knock-off style center caps separate.

Because the original Sunburst had 10 spokes, these wheels are machined to fit 2 bolt patterns: 5 on 4-1/2, as well as 5 on 4-3/4.

If your car uses Pin drive/ true knock off spindles, then you probably need to go down the Peter Klutt path for a set of his true replica Sunbursts...

I ordered mine through SummitRacing:

https://www.summitracing.com/search/...st%20hypershot

.

I am interested in those wheels. Can you please take a few more photos for me showing the FACE of the wheels and what the lug nut area looks like installed. I'm VERY interested!!! They look awesome.

Thanks - the finish looks a bit "modern" - could be the indirect lighting in the shade, though. I thought they used to offer a sand blasted look version??

Yes, these wheels are powdercoated in the low areas (kind of a dark metallic grey color), and polished aluminum on the rims and the high points of the spokes, then the entire wheel is clear-coated. This is the only finish that Rocket Racing offers for these wheels (that I am aware of- give them a call)

sandblasting them would be cheap, if you preferred that look...

Uber Sweet Robert. Looking forward to hearing your nasty pipes Saturday morning. Your neighbors are gonna love you, when you fire it up about 5am-ish.

Surprised nobody picked up on the pipes. EVIL!

Yeah, now that the "dry heat" is officially here, and my driving will be confined mostly to shorter trips around town in the mornings and evenings, I can appreciate the mellodious (maybe raucous is a better word) symphony of the straight pipes, without it driving me crazy.

When cooler weather rolls in, and more road trips are on the radar, I'll be bolting the mufflers back on

I'm not sure the OP wanted to go that far, but if you're going to remove the scoops and have no roll bar with the Sunbursts and bumpers, then I'd change the exhaust to exit out the back for sure. And also get the chrome trim around the mouth.

But it looks great with the black sidepipes too.

This time of year I fire mine up every morning @ 5:45 on the way to the gym. It's my way of saying, "If I have to be up now, so do you!"

The sidepipes are stayin...

I think CSX3225 is the coolest looking original Cobra I've seen, and you know "immitation, flattery, yadda yadda yadda..."

This is the picture of Ray Shepard's car that tipped me over the edge when I was deciding whether or not I wanted to shell out the cashola for these wheels:

and, also this picture of CSX3279:

The "street car with sidepipes" look is the look for me... I love it.

I'm still undecided about the nudge bars - I kinda like having less chrome to keep shiny...

Those are sweet wheels, I wonder if they make a 15x10 wheel, that is what I have in the rear and 15x8 in the front. What is the make of your car?
