Wheel straightening
Hi all. I have a 16" compomotive wheel which was cracked by a previous owner. I have had it welded by a very good welder and now find the wheel is also bent. Any body know of a shop which will straighten it for me?
I'd buy a new or used wheel if I could find one with all the right dimensions and the 5 on 5" lug pattern of my car. |
I wouldn't drive on a wheel like that. The process will weaken the metal.

Thanks Tony!
The fellow who welded it, Michael LeVeque said he has a lot of experience with welding wheels that will be track driven with excellent success. He sold his lath though to finance construction of a new shop so cannot do it himself. Other thoughts? |
There is a local place called Blackburn wheels that does it. The place is huge. Here is their website. If you call, talk to Brent.

You're in Hoosierland, as in "Hoosier Tire" located in some little town just south of So. Bend Being in the racing business, they probably run into bent wheels frequently, and may be able to help you. Worth a call
I'll be in So. Bend next week. would like to take a peek at that machine of yours, if feasible. Will be visiting my son & family, ( he's a Purdue eng grad, knows the way to Lafayette) Ted Radtke e-mail "srqradtkes@msn.com" |
I've used these guys with great success. They've been fixing wheels for many years.

My hub is 5 on 5" bolt pattern but if I can find a 16" center section I am willing to change the bolt pattern on my hub.
Anybody have a 16" center or a damaged wheel with a straight 16" center? |
This set may still be available.
