drive pin tool for SPF
Hi All,
My first post here. I just recently purchased a crashed Cobra and am attempting to do some repairs. Well, I didn't get very far. I need to remove my adapters to get the brakes off to replace my spindles.
But the drive pins holding the wheel adapter down are some kind of internal 12 point. I have M14 (too small) and M16 ( too large) external 12 points, but they aren't working.
Does anyone happen to know what kind of tool I need.
I tried searching Club Cobra, but I haven't seen anything. Yet, I feel I can't be the only one who has had this problem before. I'd appreciate any help you have to offer.

Those typ come with a 6 point 12mm hex bit (1/2" drive)
like this: https://www.amazon.com/GEARWRENCH-80...s%2C163&sr=1-3
Soak the base and center area with a good penetrating oil. Or make your own (50% Acetone, 50% Marvel Mystery oil or ATF). Go eat lunch.
Use a breaker bar with the Hex bit and lean into it. Do not use an Impact.
Replacement nuts are avail thru Trigo Wheel. Just specify your thread pitch.
Trigo Wheels | Wheels For Your Cobra!
If the hex does slip (those pin nuts you posted look a bit worn) you can try a 1/2" Hex bit. (= 12.7MM) You may have to belt sand it a tad. Point being you don't want to crack the Pin nut as then you are going to have to Wiz wheel the Nut and stud off.

OK great! That seems odd they machined a 12pt hole, but expect you to use a 6 sided tool. Of course we all use 12 pt sockets on 6 sided nuts/bolts all the time, but still!
I found an M15 triple square on eBay. The only one!
I'll give all of these a try, as I have ten to remove, and ten to put back on!
Thanks!

If worse comes to worse, really clamp down a vise grip and whap it with a hammer. Worked for me and I definitely recommend getting new nuts for the rounded out ones.

If you do change out the pin nuts, ensure that the new ones are not too long and prevent the wheel from fitting flush against the adapter.
Ask me how I know
