Tire letter spots

I added treadware letters to my MT S/R and soon after brown spots began to seep through the letters, I am now having to switch the tires around and considering putting the letters side inward, because they are just too much maintenance, in the pictures I scrubbed them with different cleaners and the spots remain and darken in just a few days. Does anyone have a better way?
