New magnesium Halibrands

Are they truly magnesium or aluminum? I had an original 289--wish I still had it--with mag wheels. They were a pain in the back side to keep polished. I learned it was best to leave them black.

Ozgur: Sorry to be off subject, but I regret that I don't have it. I do, however, have this shot of the engine compartment with the plate shown. One of these days I'll blow up the picture so I can read the #.

The footboxes are smaller to clear the heads, engine sits a little lower in the chassis, redesigned steering (i had to move even farther to clear the LH valve cover. Biggest hurdles were alternator brackets and expansion tank mounting. All in all everything went pretty well. Car runs and drives ok; i've got some tuning to do when the weather breaks here, mostly driveability related stuff. Are you putting a Cammer together??? Call me if you are, there are many pitfalls to this engine. I can see why guys had reliability issues with it back in the day.
