Dean,

Your giving the BFG's credit for being "round".

Default Weight

32 lbs per MT Tech person. This puts them 4 lbs lighter than the Goodyears or the Coopers, and the same as the BFG's

I buy all my tires from Summit. They sell both Mickey's & BFG (& many other brands) Ask for a tech that really knows tires & tell them your application (car weight, driving type, etc). An experienced tech can tell you everything you want to know about each brand & model & assist you in making a good choice. My car is heavier then what most of you guys are running (3400 lbs). The BFG drag radials with traditional pattern (there are 2 patterns) work well for me as they are a little stiffer. The Mickeys will hook better but wear out quicker. My front tires last forever it's the rears that sometimes only go a day or so!

I got a set of the MT6641 28x12x15 MT Sportsman S/R last year. I only have about 1500 miles on them but they do seem to have good grip/traction. I paid $205ea from Summit (best price I could find at the time) I just checked and they are now $211.

I have a set of MT - S/R Radials on my cobra. 7000 miles on them...no wear, they grip very well, and look outstanding with the "flame Tread" design.

What's not to like?

Just installed a set of MT S/R on my car last week. Did 600 miles over the weekend. No complaints, car handled very well. replaced BFG's and am very happy.

In the S/R series, it looks like the 26x10.00R15LT and 26X12.00R15LT would be very similar to the 235-60 and 295-50 sizes that we normally recommend for the ERA.

Terry Stapley put on a set of M/T S/R's last year; very pleased:

Here is a close up of the tire (Terry switched to Vintage Wheels at the same time)
