Default Arrived and Mounted

So the Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/T tires arrived:
235/60R15 fronts and 295/50R15 rears.

They come boxed:

The rears are 10" tread width, same as Goodyear "Billboards" ("GY BB"):

The buldge is the same as GY BB, but rears not quite as tall:

Fronts about same height:

Making for a prefect fit on a 65 roadster!

Default Installed

Installed yesterday:

NOTEs:
1. Awaiting shorter springs so rear can be lowered.
2. Shown mounted on fantastic Vintage Wheels
3. Drive a couple miles...perfect ride!! Longer ride this Saturday.
4. Tire mount guy said balanced "first time, zeroed out" which translates to tire being true and close to balance from factory.

Default S/T versus S/R

Very nice. What is the difference between the MT S/T and the S/R?

Default S/T vs S/R

The S/R is about $90/tire more, H speed rated vs T, and softer compound. MT doesn't advertise tread wear ratings, but I have searched around and some users say the S/R is TWR=80.

Other than that, I have no experience with either MT tire. But if anyone has had both the GY Billboard AND the MT S/R on a road course, I would sure like to hear your thoughts.

Sam

The S/R's tread pattern is reasonably appealing....

Anybody remember "Tire Guy"? I wonder if this is what he was working on...
-And where is he now?
