What Size Fronts (Avon)
I am wondering whether to get the 225/60R15 or 245/60R15 Avons to replace my 235/60R15 BFG TA's.
Any advice? Are the 225's too small? I was thinking that they might be a little more nimble than the 245's.
Thanks.

I used the 245 Avons on the front of my BDR. Very happy with them

Avon 245s are "touch and go" on the ERA cars (meaning some of the newer cars have no problems with them, some of the older cars experience rubbing). Make sure somebody else has put them on a car similar to yours and experienced no fitting problems first.

I`ve got the 245/60 R15 `s on the front of my ERA ... #757 , and as Patrickt said it will be extremely tight , but only on the LF . The right has plenty of clearance ... and the problem with the LF only shows up in a left turn and from what I can see , only if the suspension is at full droop .
Still waiting on my title from SC so I can get the tags and see what happens on the road ... but I could probably force it past the tight spot ... but won`t . ERA ( Bob ) has a sketch showing where the inner fender lip MAY have to be trimmed . Once I get full weight on the suspension , I`ll know more ... but it`s so close , it won`t be a big deal to remove about 1/8" if needed.
Hopefully , I`ll never be in a full left turn with the suspension at full droop .

Thanks guys... I have the infamous "Venom 427" which is related most closely to the BDR. So speedy's experience is most germane. I'm glad you like them speedy, as Kraus already shipped them so I'll be doing some body work if they don't fit!

Avon tire size
I went with the AVON 225 and 275 combination and they look great. The track performance vs the bluestreaks I used to have will be determined at the NASA event on July 25. Street ride is no comparison and I now enjoy driving the car around town. The bluestreaks really suck on the street.

I just got AVON 225/60/15s on the front after deciding I didn't want the hassle of being too close with the 245s. I think the 225s are plenty wide (and they look great). The 225 and 245 are identical height. There looks to be about .375-.5" clearance; so maybe the 245 would just make it. My car is at ERA right now in New Britain if you want to go check it out (looks like you are about 1 hr away?)
