Any new developments on the Sunburst wheels? I put down a deposit on Vintage "Halibrand style" wheels with Bob but really wanted a Sunburst wheel for my ERA Street car replica.

Me? Hell Steve, I don't own sunburst rims but I sure as hell would like a set. But I'd like mine with the Trigo dimensions. Real ones are just too damn skinny for the rear and I don't want Wilf noticing things like that.

sunburst
we are dilligently working on theis and several other projects. The 10" rear wheel is a problem, as that wheel to keep it looking correct would need to be a reverse mount, that would prevent the use of outboard discs or uprights that would not fit in a 13" dia circle. the current wheel will be 15 x7.5 with 3" back in 6 pin. we are still working on draft angles and shrinkage for the permante mould.

So, no 5 pin options in the same deminsions as the Trigo's? I would guess you'd have a larger customer base that way.

the wheels will be 6 pin, 5 pin, and bolt on. the 5 pin will be 15 x 7.5 3 5/8 backspace, same as trigo, and can be cut to 4".

Thanks for the reply Team III. Is there a tentative date for wheels to be available for sale yet?

Any news when these will be available. It's not that I'm impatient, it's just that I can't wait. John O

None made in 9.5 x 15 with 3 5/8 back space? Just to fill the rear wheel well?

Hey John,
Why the edit on your post? I read it yesterday and wondered if you have any pictures of the different rims and cars you spoke of yesterday?
Team III any updates for March or April?

Well - I think I've held Bob off at Vntage Wheel about as long as I should on completing my order last year for a set of S/C wheels. Guess I'll have to go ahead with them since Team III is apparently having problems.

I talked to Team 3 today and he's put the Sunbursts on hold for lack of interest...says it will cost him $40,000 to do the molds and he can't sell enough to pay for that. He will custom machine a billet set for $2,000 per wheel.
Franklin, I edited my post because I didn't realize at first this thread was 7 pages long and what I said had already been said to some extent. Maybe not in the minute detail I went into but the gist was there.
I'd have to go through my files and see what pictures I have.

Hi Guys,
Disappointing news, I will reach out to the TEAM III guys and try to stop by again to talk to them. There are pics of a rendering that Scott posted on the fifth page of this thread and several pics of Cobras with the Sunburst wheels throughout the thread.

Sunburst Knock Off Wheels
Tony,
I am a poser with Sunbursts on a street style ERA. As a matter of fact its in your profile picture along side CSX 3252. Anyway, I live less than 10 miles from you in Danville. If you would like to take a look before you make any tough decisions I could meet you. I have had this car for over five years and its been awesome but I can help you avoid some potential pitfalls.
If you want you can email me at mgilber3@its.jnj.com to set up a day/time. Maybe we could meet for a beer in downtown Danville.
