Anyone know of these Tulsa/OKC companies?
Four years ago I bought a nicely done Cobra replica from a gentleman in Dallas. The verbal history is that the body was sourced from Cobra Auto Works, which was supposedly active in the Oklahoma City area, and that the chassis was designed and built by Ron Godell Racecars of Tulsa.
The car is tight, and other than the usual routine maintenance items has no significant issues. I'd just like to find out a bit about tidbits in the verbal history.
Two owners back the car was bought at an auction...reportedly the auction was to liquidate the inventory of Ron Godell Racecars when he died. That's about all anyone knows about the history, but it is VERY well built and I believe that the car started its life as a 1/4 mile drag racer and was then converted to street trim when the decision was made to sell it. It has a lot of very racer-oriented gear, not exactly the sort of stuff you see on street-only cars.
If anyone has any knowledge of the two companies I mentioned I would appreciate knowing whatever you can provide regarding them.
Cheers, and TIA!!
