Sounds good to me Paul, just say when & where! Hopefully we'll get a couple of dry days around here.

We've done a couple Route 66 cruises. We stopped down in Stroud at the Rock Cafe. GREAT PLACE and a fav with the club. However, it burned down to the ground a few weeks ago. All that was left were the Rock walls. (The walls were made from Rocks blasted from the ground while making Route 66, hence the name.)

The good news is that they are going to rebuild. Dawn, the owner of the Rock was the inspiration for Sally in the Movie "Cars'. Unfortunitly it will be next year before they open back up.

Right down the road from Stroud is, POPs on 66. Pretty neat place. You go past the Round Barn in Arcadia. Another 66 icon.

What about Talihina drive?

I went down there.. great people. No scraps left. So I had to pay full price. Oh well. I also got some material to cover the dash, door panels etc. the interior is currently beige and I'm switching it to black. It just looks better on these cars.

The seat will be the expensive part... I'll have to had them redone.

I think it's a matter of exterior color. For me, the tan goes great with the green exterior color, besides, almost every Cobra has black interior, gotta use your imagination & be a little different to set yourself apart from the crowd.

Go with what makes you happy though.

Yep . I agree. English racing green with tan looks nice. Classic combo. Mine is red and the tan doesn't look bad, I just like the black. I know 90% of them have black int. and I thought about leaving it tan for the whole "Be different" reason.

Whatever makes you happy, it should look great!

Who will be doing the seats for you? Massey's Auto trim did mine & turned out good. Although after driving it for a while, I might have them take some padding out of the seats & reshape them over the winter time.

See ya,
Randy

Dunno yet. Always good to get some refs. What did they cost you? I'd love to find some one that would like to trade tan for black! That would be perfect.

They did mine for just under $500 & they turned out nice. Their customer service was excellent & they had them done when they said they would. Like I said before, I'll be taking them back in for some alterations that I came up with, mostly cosmetic.

If I remember correctly, it took about 5 days.

For tuning or engine building, you can't go wrong with Kurtis down at Archangel Motorsports. Top notch guy and knows his stuff. Perfectionist.

I had flanges welded on my headers & sidepipes, also had to have one of the headers refabricated so everything would fit on my Cobra.

Had the work done at Trinity Auto Restoration in Tulsa, they did a great job & the flanges don't leak at all. David Miller, the owner is a pretty decent guy too.

I have known David for over 20 years and he is a first rate guy that makes sure that anything done in his shop is done right. They build Kirkhams and FFR's too!

Ok... so I'm out for a little cruise this evening, on the back roads of BA in fact. I peer into the distance and what do I see? Could it be? Two Cobras headed right towards me!

What are the chances? Good to meet Clois, his wife and the other couple (I couldn't hear his his name over the exhaust). Beautiful cars guys!

Ditto Paul,

The other driver was Bob Beasley and his wife Susan. We were off to Backyard Burger and a little cruise. We managed to get a police escort on the way back home (Black Female Policeman probably without any knowledge of what she was stalking). I think she may have heard me stretching my cobra's legs a little on 81st street coming around the big curve off hwy 51 and coming over the turnpike.

No harm no foul and last night was a good night to be in a cobra. We will have to get Randy to get US organized one of these days and get something together.

Glad you guys could meet up with each other.

Clois, you need to check your pm about organizing our club's activities.
