Not sure about anyone else, but at least once a week I check the tires on all of our vehicles...Just a quick walk around to see if there is any defects that can be seen, air pressure checks, etc..........Goes back to the days where I hauled other peoples antique cars for a secondary living..You can never be too careful.

I was informed by the Gentleman who did my front end alignment,Allen Lemons, to change tires every four years whether they needed them or not. He learned this lesson when a fellow Street Rodder blew what appeared to be a good tire and wrecked his Street Rod.
I changed the tires on the Mustang as soon as I noticed the cracking hiding in between the tread. This is the first I've heard of a date code.

Marty.

Thanks for posting this Paul, good info.

Since our cars aren't daily drivers, I know the tires on my Cobra will be replaced due to age, not mileage.

Hmmm, good point. Looking back, it's been on the road for 3 1/2 months now & I only half a little over 300 miles on it.

Think I'll go for a ride tonight...... and tomorrow night......... and tomorrow night............................................. .......
