Where can I get my Cobra weighed around Tulsa??
Anybody know where I can get the Cobra weighed around Tulsa? Anybody have it done yet?
Anyone else interested in finding out how much their cars weigh?

Your local used car dealer should be able to tell where the nearest weigh station is.

Quik Trip on I-44 at Exit 238 about a mile west of the Cherokee Casino (193rd east ave). It is the Quik Trip we met at one day last year before going to Grand Lake. Scale is in the back of the store where the diesel pumps are. It cost $8.50 to weigh mine. My car (B&B) weighed 2580 total. 1220 on steering axle and 1360 on drive axle. I was not in the car. They are friendly and happy to weigh the car. Bob

Rock and gravel yards have scales and sometimes don't mind weighing an interesting car. I did my old sandbuggy at one on a lark. (850lbs) Don't know just how accurate they are though.

Both of the last two are good ideas! I used the truck scales before off I44. They have scales at Hardscape in Bixby. Between 111 and 121st on the west side of Mermorial.

The local auto recyclers are good. Around here at least, they are accurate because there is money involved when they weigh in the scrap cars so the government requires they have them checked regularly. Mine was 2400 lbs with the top, side curtains & 1/2 tank fuel.

weight?
I take mine to the local CO-OP where they sell grain by the truck load. The scale round off at 20 lbs. I guess it round up in their favor. But it's close enough. No charge. I drive the front wheels on and weight it, then I pull forward till only the rear wheels are on the scale to weight the back half.

Are any of you guys pilots ? A few of the better FBO's will have wheel scales. You'll need four of them. Also, what about your local circle track - those guys weight their cars, you might be able to find an owner who has scales. You'll be able to weigh the car, and get the front-back weight, and possibly the side to side weight. It will take a lot of foot work but you'll be surprised at how many scales are out there. Good luck.

I forgot to mention, the truck scales have a plus or minus percentage which is determined by the state. Your weight at a truck stop is not really accurate if you are planning to race or balance your car.

Call Al Lemons who I think done your alighment. I think he has a set of digital scales. Another option would be to go to Tulsa Raceway Park, or call Scott at Hallett. There are a lot of guys that run the round de round cars that have them as well. Or come to Run n Gun this year and we will weigh it for you---FREE!

I would think any performance alignment shop will have scales for corner weighting. You may be surprised to learn how much or how little weight each wheel carries.

Thanks for all the input guys! Seems like a might have a few options here.
Bob - I think I'll head over to the truck stop by the casino like you recommended, it's the closest to where I live. Is there someone back there at the scales or do I need to go into the truck stop?
Clois - Dino's did my alignment but Alan did Marty's. Alan's a great guy, I'll call him if the truck scales don't work out for whatever reason. Sorry, no Run n Gun for me this year, I have all my vacation time already planned out for the year, but I do plan on making it there sometime!
Once again, thanks for all the input!
Randy
